Chapter 219:Mikoharu's Morning on the Farm

Morning. As the first light broke on the horizon, the Dodrio on the farm stretched its throat and let out its usual loud cry.

With Dodrio's call, the farm welcomed a new day.

Since it was her first day on the farm, Mikoharu woke up early.

However, most of the Pokémon on the farm were early risers as well.

Mikoharu looked out the window.

Infernape and the others were doing physical training.

The training method was simple: running laps around the farm's mountain.

Sirfetch'd, Kommo-o, and other Fighting-type Pokémon were all running up and down the mountain.

Gardevoir was teaching Diancie how to use Light Screen.

"So amazing."

Diancie looked at the Light Screen Gardevoir had created. "I think I’m starting to understand a little."

Diancie then noticed Mikoharu at the window.

"Good morning, Miss Mikoharu."

Mikoharu waved. "Good morning~"

After watching for a while, Mikoharu left her room and headed to the kitchen.

In the kitchen, she saw Indeedee busy at work.

"Um, is there anything I can help with?"

Mikoharu offered.

Indeedee smiled and shook her head, then gestured for Mikoharu to look out the window at the garden.

A group of Cutiefly had gathered together, flying toward the sun and out of the farm.

Indeedee told Mikoharu that before breakfast, she could take a stroll around the farm in the morning.

"I see~"

Mikoharu sent a message to Kiko, asking if she was awake.

But there was no reply.

She figured Kiko must have been too tired from last night.

Mikoharu walked out alone, glancing at Cyclizar and Silvally lying by the entrance.

Silvally had a cold expression and was a Pokémon Mikoharu had never seen before, so she didn’t dare greet it.

"Cyclizar~"

Cyclizar, on the other hand, was much friendlier.

"Good morning, Cyclizar."

Mikoharu greeted Cyclizar, then noticed Cinccino cleaning the windows before heading toward the garden.

"By the way, where did my Torkoal go?"

Mikoharu muttered as she walked, looking around.

"Pidgey~"

A Pidgey perched on the eaves stretched its wings and flew over Mikoharu’s head.

"Pidgey, have you seen my Torkoal?"

Pidgey glanced at Mikoharu and flew ahead.

Mikoharu scratched her head and sighed.

Passing by the garden, she saw a Teddiursa sleeping soundly under a flower.

A Combee was resting on the crescent-shaped mark on its forehead.

"Teddiursa and Combee?"

Mikoharu took out her phone to record the unusual pair. "What a rare combination."

"Flabébé~"

A Flabébé floated toward Mikoharu, holding a flower.

"Is this for me?"

"Flabébé~"

Mikoharu took the flower and placed it in her hair. "Thank you, Flabébé."

"Pidgey~"

The Pidgey that had flown away earlier returned.

It flew in front of Mikoharu and chirped twice.

"You want me to follow you?"

"Pidgey~"

Pidgey nodded, then led Mikoharu toward the orchard.

In the orchard, Heracross were sleeping soundly.

Torkoal was there too, leaning against a tree, also asleep.

"Skarmory~"

Victreebel waved its leaves at Mikoharu.

"Good morning, Victreebel."

Mikoharu naturally greeted it.

"Skarmory~"

"Kabutops~"

Behind Victreebel, many more Victreebel emerged.

"Wow, so many Victreebel."

Mikoharu was startled, then remembered that Kiko had told her that her Victreebel was originally part of the Victreebel group on the farm.

"Torkoal~"

Torkoal woke up at that moment.

It glanced at Mikoharu, then happily trotted over.

"Good morning, Torkoal. Did you have fun here last night?"

"Torkoal~"

Torkoal showed a pleased expression.

Mikoharu patted Torkoal's shell. "That’s good."

"Let’s go. It’s time for breakfast."

The morning on the farm was as beautiful as a painting.

The lingering mist made the air slightly damp.

Soft sunlight gently filtered through the tree branches, shining on the morning dew.

Dappled shadows swayed on the dirt path, which smelled of earth.

Combee fluttered among the flowers, Pidgey flew past the tree branches, and Oddish slept in the grass.

All kinds of Pokémon lived in this environment.

They were either starting or ending their day.

When Mikoharu returned to the room, Natsume was just coming downstairs.

"Good morning, Gym Leader Natsume."

Since she was alone, Mikoharu greeted Natsume somewhat awkwardly.

"Morning."

Natsume walked over to Gardevoir, who was sitting by the window reading a magazine and sipping morning tea.

Gardevoir handed her cup to Natsume.

Natsume took it and drank a big gulp.

Diancie stood nearby, excited. "Natsume, I’ve officially mastered the Light Screen move!"

"Really? That’s impressive."

Natsume smiled at Diancie. "Let’s test your new Light Screen move in a battle this afternoon."

"Yes, Natsume~"

Light Screen was a move that weakened special attacks, while Reflect blocked physical attacks.

They were not the same move.

Natsume handed the cup back to Gardevoir, then turned to Mikoharu. "Did you sleep well last night?"

"I slept very comfortably."

Mikoharu looked at Natsume and whispered, "Um, Kiko, she..."

"She’s still asleep. I think she might sleep until noon."

Mikoharu couldn’t help but imagine the scene of Natsume and Kiko together.

"Ah, it seems like last night was really tiring."

Mikoharu accidentally said her thoughts out loud.

"Oh... no."

Mikoharu quickly covered her mouth, slightly embarrassed. "No, I mean, um..."

Natsume chuckled. "Let’s have breakfast."

"Indeedee started preparing it very early."

Natsume picked up a shrimp dumpling made by Indeedee and took a bite.

"Really good. Gardevoir, try it."

Gardevoir leaned down and took the other half of the dumpling from Natsume’s chopsticks.

"Gardevoir, what do you think about raising a group of Clauncher?"

Natsume suggested. "That way, we won’t have to buy shrimp from outside anymore."

Clauncher’s claws naturally fell off and were a common delicacy on the tables of many coastal fishermen.

Gardevoir always supported Natsume’s ideas.

Mikoharu watched the harmonious scene between Natsume and Gardevoir, feeling a strange sense of warmth.

Mikoharu thought: If I were to live with a boyfriend, wouldn’t mornings be like this too?

We’d share the same cup of water, eat the same food, and talk about our future plans.

Gardevoir suddenly smiled.

Gardevoir liked the scene Mikoharu was imagining.
