Chapter 218:The Arrival of the Oddish Tribe! Xerneas's Legends
Added 2025-01-31 00:00:05 +0000 UTCPikachu Forest, located in the woods outside the mountain farm orchard.
Natsume brought Diancie and the others to the Pikachu's habitat using Teleport.
Here, many Pikachu could be seen bustling about.
At the center of the woods, a group of Pikachu had gathered around a glowing Pokémon egg.
"Pikachu~"
Seeing Natsume arrive, the Pikachu quickly made way for him.
One particularly lively Pikachu even jumped onto Natsume's shoulder.
Natsume scratched the Pikachu under its chin and smiled. "Pikachu, congratulations! You're about to welcome a new life."
"Pikachu~"
The sound of Pikachu's voice always had a soothing effect.
Soon, the light gradually faded.
"Pichu~"
A tiny Pichu was born in this forest.
"Pikachu~"
One of the Pikachu tugged at Natsume's sleeve.
The Pikachu hoped that Natsume would capture this Pichu.
For the Pikachu, this would mean that the Pichu had been acknowledged by Natsume.
For group-living Pokémon, having their young acknowledged by the leader was of great importance.
The Pikachu had been living near the farm, and in their understanding, this entire area belonged to Natsume.
Thus, they had long regarded Natsume as the lord of this territory.
And it was under Natsume's protection that they could live happily here.
"No problem."
Natsume, of course, wouldn't refuse such a request.
He took out a Poké Ball and aimed it at the little Pichu. "Little one, don't be afraid."
This Pichu seemed to have a very good temperament. It even reached out toward the Poké Ball as it approached.
Bang~
The Poké Ball opened.
Shake~ Ding~.
"Pikachu~"
The Pikachu cheered happily, seeing that the Pichu had been acknowledged.
Natsume looked at the Poké Ball in his hand and smiled. "Come on out, Pichu."
Pichu was released back onto the ground covered with fallen leaves.
"So cute."
Diancie crouched down and looked at Pichu. "Natsume, can I touch it?"
"Well, I think it's fine if Pichu doesn't mind."
Diancie immediately turned to Pichu. "Hello, may I touch you?"
"Pichu~"
Diancie happily reached out and gently patted Pichu's head.
"So soft, so comfortable~"
"Houndoom~"
In the distance, the howls of Houndoom suddenly echoed.
Natsume turned toward the direction of the howls. "We have guests."
Kiko asked curiously, "Are they friends of yours, Natsume?"
Natsume shook his head slightly and smiled. "Come on, let's go see for ourselves."
At that moment, outside Miltank Valley.
A group of Oddish had gathered together.
They timidly looked at the Houndoom and Scyther in front of them.
Oddish are small, plant-like Pokémon.
Their heads resemble deep blue plant bulbs with round feet.
Their red eyes are as small as beans.
Oddish are usually active at night.
During the day, to avoid the sun, they bury themselves underground, leaving only the weed-like parts of their heads exposed.
It was still evening, so seeing so many Oddish gathered together was quite unusual.
"It's Oddish."
Kiko, who had followed Natsume here, looked at the group of Oddish and guessed, "Were they attracted by the farm's land?"
Natsume nodded. "Most likely."
"After all, Oddish instinctively migrate to lands rich in nutrients."
Diancie, listening to the conversation, exclaimed, "Wow, everyone knows so much!"
Kiko smiled at Diancie. "Not really."
"Oddish are actually quite common in cities. You can see them in parks, botanical gardens, or even in school woods."
Since Oddish are easy to cultivate, they are not uncommon in urban areas.
Natsume greeted the Oddish. "Where did you all come from?"
The Oddish looked at each other, and then one with a level of 20 stepped forward. "Oddish."
Just as Natsume had guessed, these Oddish were instinctively searching for a better habitat.
The farm's land, brimming with life force, naturally attracted Pokémon like Oddish.
Oddish are quite interesting.
After evolving into Gloom, they can choose different evolutionary paths.
Bellossom or Vileplume.
Natsume thought their presence would make the farm's garden even livelier.
Natsume looked at the Oddish. "If you like it here, you're welcome to stay."
The Oddish, seeing how easily they had been accepted, cheered happily.
Mikoharu, standing to the side, watched as Natsume captured all the Oddish and asked curiously, "Do most Pokémon on the farm come here willingly and then live here?"
Natsume released the Oddish again. "Not all of them."
"Some Pokémon, like the Oddish, migrate here on their own."
"Others are captured through battles or rescued from illegal laboratories."
"Although the reasons they come here vary, fortunately, they all seem to live happily here."
Mikoharu, hearing Natsume's words, was surprised. "Illegal laboratories?"
"Can you tell me more about their stories?"
Kiko added curiously, "Come to think of it, I don't know much about the stories of many Pokémon on the farm either."
Natsume thought for a moment and said, "Well, it's not really a complicated story."
"Let me think. I'll start by telling you about Arcevee."
Natsume led the Oddish toward the farm cabin.
Diancie, Kiko, and the others followed beside Natsume, listening to him recount the stories of how he met the various Pokémon.
Unconsciously, the sky gradually darkened.
"Noivern~"
In the sky, Noivern flew over and landed beside Natsume.
"Noivern~"
Noivern told Natsume that Indeedee had already prepared dinner.
"Alright."
Natsume acknowledged and then smiled at Kiko and Mikoharu. "Let's stop here for now."
"Next, let me show you Indeedee's cooking skills."
Because they had guests, the farm's dinner was particularly lavish.
Various dishes covered the table.
Mikoharu sat down at the dining table and sighed, "There's so much food. I feel like we won't be able to finish it all."
"Munchlax~"
Beside her, Munchlax suddenly popped its head out.
Not finish? Are you kidding?
"Indeedee."
Indeedee, seeing Munchlax suddenly appear, quickly pulled it away from Mikoharu.
Munchlax had already eaten dinner.
However, it didn't seem to mind having another meal.
"Natsume, when do you think Munchlax will evolve?"
Kiko looked at Munchlax. "I still remember during my college entrance exams, all I wanted to do was lie on a Snorlax's belly and sleep for an entire day."
Natsume chuckled. "It's hard to say when Munchlax will evolve."
"But once it does, I'm sure it'll invite you to lie on its belly."
Munchlax didn't pay much attention to the conversation about it.
At that moment, Munchlax was quietly sneaking plates from the table.
Indeedee sighed and pretended not to notice.
Thanks to Munchlax's help, the entire table of food was eventually cleaned up.
"I'm so full~"
Kiko patted her stomach. "I feel like I can't eat another bite."
"Me too."
Mikoharu nodded beside her. "The food here is just too delicious."
"Can't eat anymore?"
Natsume looked at the two of them. "That's a shame."
As soon as Natsume finished speaking, Indeedee brought out the main course.
The main dish was an omelet rice made with Chansey's eggs.
Golden egg mixture was poured over rice cooked with Hearty Grains, and the rich aroma immediately filled the room.
Gulp~
Kiko and Mikoharu both swallowed hard.
Natsume explained, "The rice is cooked with Hearty Grains."
"The egg mixture is made by mixing Chansey's eggs with Miltank's fresh milk, then frying it with Arboliva's oil."
Gulp~
Kiko swallowed again. She looked at the golden omelet rice and said through gritted teeth, "I think I can still eat a bit more."
"Me too!"
"Munchlax~"
Diancie also raised her bowl. "And Diancie's~"
Indeedee, seeing how much everyone enjoyed the meal, smiled happily.
"Indeedee~"
Natsume teased, "Looks like everyone has a good appetite."
"Sniff... I'll start dieting after this."
Kiko said, tears in her eyes, as she devoured another large bowl of omelet rice.
Since it was already October, the nights on the farm had grown much colder.
However, soaking in the hot spring made all the difference.
After a long day of work, sinking into the warm spring water instantly made all the fatigue disappear.
Kiko leaned against the edge of the pool. When she looked up, she could see the star-filled sky.
The nights on the farm were always beautiful.
"Kiko, what are we doing tomorrow?"
Mikoharu swam over to Kiko's side.
Kiko glanced at Mikoharu's figure.
Mikoharu usually wore very loose clothing.
Only after she undressed today did Kiko realize that Mikoharu was actually quite petite, giving off the vibe of a "legal loli."
"In the morning, if you want to experience farm life, you can follow Lopunny and Meltan to milk the cows."
Kiko thought about what they could do. "Then we can train with Infernape and the others for a while."
"In the afternoon, we can go to the battle arena to watch the Pokémon battles. In the evening, we can pick fruit in the orchard. At night, we can enjoy the farm's scenery, just like now."
Mikoharu asked softly, "What if I don't want to do anything and just want to lie around?"
"That's fine too."
Kiko thought for a moment. "Then in the morning, you can lie on the sofa in the room with the Eevees, and when you open the window, you'll see Florges's garden."
"In the afternoon, you can lie in the bamboo grove with Sewaddle and the others, or in the fruit orchard. In the evening, you can even lie in the fields."
Mikoharu blinked and suddenly asked, "Then where do you lie at night?"
"At night, at night..."
Kiko's originally fair neck turned bright red.
Natsume stood by the window, looking at the two girls laughing in the bamboo grove.
Their figures, partially hidden by the bamboo, appeared and disappeared intermittently.
Natsume watched this scene with a pleased heart.
Beautiful things always bring enjoyment.
After returning to his room, Natsume opened his phone and browsed some Pokémon websites.
It didn’t take long before Kiko, wrapped in a towel, quietly entered Natsume's room.
Moonlight streamed through the window, illuminating the room.
Kiko, her face flushed, let the towel slowly slip from her body, falling to the floor.
She stepped over the towel and walked toward Natsume.
The gentle moonlight shone on her smooth, jade-like back.
Soon, the moonlight was covered by Natsume's hand.
Kiko's body began to tremble, her peaks swaying aimlessly.
Natsume gazed at Kiko's face, her lips tightly pressed together, and gradually increased his pace.
The bed shook violently, and the sounds in the room grew louder and more intense.
The commotion began to spread downstairs, even reaching underground.
Rumble~
It was the sound of a drill.
"Damn, we’ve hit groundwater."
At the same time Natsume was enjoying his tender moment, in the northern Frozen Bear League, Diamond City, outskirts.
Karl, watching the water gushing out from the Rapid Spin drill, cursed under his breath and lit a cigarette.
"Sorina, do you really think Xerneas could be sleeping here?"
"Are we sure our intel isn’t wrong?"
Karl and Sorina were high-ranking members of an organization called the Eternal Life Society.
The Eternal Life Society, with the goal of pursuing immortality, had a global presence.
They had members in various countries and regions.
Additionally, no one knew who the founder of this organization was.
The identities of its top members were also a secret.
The Eternal Life Society was one of the most mysterious organizations in the world.
Their ultimate goal, however, was much simpler: to find the path to eternal life.
"Hey, what are you looking at?"
Karl exhaled smoke into the night sky, his gaze shifting to Sorina, who was staring at her phone. His expression was a mix of irritation and greed.
Sorina was a classic beauty from West Asia.
But such a beauty, untouchable and always carrying an air of aloofness and arrogance, was incredibly frustrating for Karl.
It made him feel like she was both casual and yet looked down on him.
Sorina looked up at Karl and waved her phone.
"I found a very interesting place."
"What place?"
"Takamagahara - The Hometown of the Gods."
Karl sneered. "The Hometown of the Gods?"
"What, are there actually gods there?"
Sorina smiled. "It's said that the sea god Lugia resides there."
On her phone was a picture of Diancie and Natsume planting a tree together.
"The legendary Mythical Pokémon, Diancie."
Karl stomped out his cigarette, annoyed. "You really can’t let it go, can you?"
"Don’t forget what our mission is."
Sorina slipped her phone into her pocket, her expression relaxed. "If Xerneas were really sleeping here, we would’ve dug it up by now, wouldn’t we?"
The information they had about Xerneas was actually quite limited.
Even the Eternal Life Society could only rely on legends to trace Xerneas's whereabouts.
Over the years, the Eternal Life Society had compiled legends and records from various places, piecing together a relatively accurate version of the story: Long ago, a disaster struck this land.
A black sun blotted out the sky.
The land became a place of death, a wasteland.
Then, Xerneas arrived, stepping on a rainbow of light.
It replaced the black sun.
A life-energy-filled aura spread across the land.
Xerneas rekindled life in this land, and it regained its vitality.
As the land came back to life, many Pokémon were drawn to it, including Diancie.
But after the land was restored, Xerneas completely vanished from human sight.
Though Xerneas disappeared from the legends, some claimed to have seen a dreamlike glow emanating from underground.
That glow was said to resemble Xerneas's aura.
Thus, some believed that Xerneas was sleeping beneath this land.
Whether these legends were true or not would only be known after further investigation.
"Anyway, I’m heading to the Japan League, to a place within the region called Takamagahara, the Hometown of the Gods."
Sorina looked at Karl with a light laugh. "You can take care of things here. Just keep digging—it shouldn’t be too hard, right?"
With that, she tossed out her Poké Ball. "Let’s go, Flygon."
