Chapter 167:Turmoil at the Farm Gym! Noibat's Evolution!

“Zoroark?”

“When did this happen?”

When Kenjo saw Zoroark, he immediately understood what was going on.

It was clear that they had all fallen victim to its illusions.

Kenjo’s expression darkened significantly.

He quickly looked around at the Pokémon and pulled out a Poké Ball. “Come on out, Weavile!”

With a flash of red light, Kenjo and the others released their respective Pokémon.

“Infernape.”

Infernape waved its hand at Kenjo again.

“What do you mean?”

“Rotom~”

Rotom stepped forward to translate, “Infernape wants to battle you.”

“A battle?”

Kenjo looked at the farm’s Pokémon, feeling confused.

At a time like this, did they want to have a one-on-one battle with him?

Kenjo thought for a moment and then asked, “If I win, will you let us go?”

Infernape nodded.

Infernape thought, if you beat me, then I obviously won't have the ability to stop you.

Kenjo nodded, “Alright, let’s get started then.”

Rotom immediately said, “In that case, I’ll be the referee, Rotom~”

“The rules of the match are intruders versus farm Fighting-type Pokémon.”

“The match ends when one side’s Pokémon all lose their battle capability!”

Kenjo was slightly taken aback. “Huh?”

“All of them?”

“Yes. Is there a problem? Rotom”

Kenjo looked around.

“Sirfetch'd~”

Sirfetch'd swung the long sword it held, looking eager for the fight.

Annihilape stood in the shadows, watching them with an expressionless gaze.

Heracross sat on the ground, a bit tired from the earlier battles, and was drinking from a canister filled with an unknown liquid.

Heracross needed to replenish its energy.

As it drank, it scanned the Pokémon around Kenjo.

Nearby, Jangmo-o and Torchic were warming up.

They looked like they were ready to join the battle as well.

More and more Pokémon had started to gather around the perimeter of the gym venue.

“Beedrill~”

It was a swarm of Beedrill.

“Conkeldurr~”

Conkeldurr slammed a concrete pillar into the ground.

Timburr and Gurdurr, who were beside Conkeldurr, also positioned the wooden blocks and steel bars they were carrying in front of them.

Even a group of Victreebel approached with their mouths wide open.

But for some reason, Kenjo felt more discomfort from a Swadloon that was following the Victreebel.

Swadloon’s gaze toward them seemed a bit strange.

“Rotom, is there a problem?”

Rotom asked again.

“No, nothing.”

Kenjo took a deep breath and made his decision, “Let’s do it this way.”

“Alright, Rotom.”

Rotom cheerfully responded, “Then, let the battle begin!”

Kenjo immediately commanded, “Weavile, Quick Attack.”

Weavile looked under pressure.

Its gaze darted around at the other Pokémon.

Weavile wanted to flee.

“Weavile, wait a moment!”

Kenjo urged, “Get ready to make your move.”

Weavile redirected its focus back to Infernape.

“Weavile!”

A white light enveloped Weavile as it charged toward Infernape.

Infernape watched Weavile's movements.

Weavile was quick, radiating a fierce energy.

“Infernape!”

Infernape thought happily: this is a decent opponent.

Mach Punch!

As Weavile rushed towards him, Infernape threw a powerful punch.

Bang!

At the moment the loud sound erupted, Kenjo suddenly released another Pokémon.

It was a Skarmory.

Skarmory grabbed Kenjo’s shoulder and flew into the sky.

Kenjo sneered, “Only a fool would play a battle game with you guys.”

Everyone’s attention was focused on Infernape and Weavile at that moment.

This allowed Kenjo to successfully soar into the sky.

“Pidgeot~”

Pidgeot and the Pidgeotto circling above immediately headed toward Kenjo.

Kenjo pulled out a smoke bomb and threw it at them.

Bam~

The smoke bomb exploded in the air, obscuring Pidgeot's view.

Kenjo said smugly, “Skarmory, let’s go.”

“Noibat~”

Just as Kenjo was speaking, a loud cry suddenly rang out near him.

A Noibat appeared right next to Kenjo, seemingly unaware of what was happening.

It had appeared as stealthily as a ghost.

Noibat was skilled at flying in the night sky.

It was fast and light.

“Noibat~”

Noibat smiled and waved its wings at Kenjo.

Then, Air Cutter!

Bam~

This delay allowed Pidgeot and the others to regroup.

“Noibat~”

Noibat greeted Pidgeot.

This opponent, it would handle.

Kenjo and Skarmory nearly fell from the sky, but fortunately, the suddenly appearing Shuppet caught them with its shadow.

“Shuppet, damn it, go take care of them!”

Kenjo glared angrily at Noibat flying above.

If it wasn’t for it, they would’ve escaped.

However, Shuppet didn’t make any move.

A hand rested on Shuppet's head.

Shuppet turned its slightly stiff head and saw Annihilape’s crimson gaze locked onto it.

Shuppet slightly opened its mouth, trying to say something.

Rage Fist!

Bang!

Shuppet’s body fell rapidly through the air, crashing down to the ground.

Annihilape then used Phantom Force, quickly appearing in front of the fallen Shuppet.

Rage Fist! Rage Fist! Rage Fist!

With punch after punch, Shuppet lost battle capability.

Seeing this situation, the group that had come with Kenjo immediately scattered in different directions.

“Persian, Fury Swipes!”

“Scrafty, rush in!”

Rotom, watching the battlefield suddenly fill with confusion, angrily exclaimed, “What happened to the battle, Rotom?”

“You’re not following the rules!”

As a long-time referee, Rotom had great respect for the role.

While Rotom was still upset, Sirfetch'd had already lunged in.

Brutal Swing!

Sirfetch'd swung its sword rapidly at both a Persian and its trainer, attacking them together!

“Heracross!”

Heracross set down the drink it was holding.

Arm Thrust!

Heracross pressed down on a Carnivine and its trainer, pinning them to the ground.

“Serperior~”

Hawlucha soared through the air, stretching its body.

It was posing dramatically.

“Arbok~”

An Arbok charged rapidly toward Torchic.

“Hawlucha!”

Hawlucha swooped down quickly.

Flying Press!

Bam~

The ground kicked up dust.

Hawlucha's body slammed into Arbok's head.

“Torchic!”

Torchic trotted up in front of Arbok.

It took a deep breath.

“Torchic~”

Ember attack!

“Infernape!”

A surge of flames blasted toward Weavile.

Infernape focused solely on Weavile.

It didn’t care about the surrounding chaos.

The continuous barrage of Fire Punch clearly left Weavile struggling to keep up.

Bang!

A heavy punch struck Weavile's body.

Weavile was knocked out of the battle arena.

Crack crack crack~

The sound of bones breaking echoed.

Grapploct released a human it had been holding.

As a Pokémon from the secret realm, Grapploct didn’t quite understand humans.

But now, it did.

Bam~

In the sky, the sounds of two Air Cutters colliding rang out.

The battle between Noibat and Skarmory officially began.

Smoke filled the area.

Noibat flew out of the smoke.

Aerial Ace!

In a thundering clash, Skarmory and Kenjo tumbled to the ground together.

Kenjo looked around.

The group he had brought with him was all lying on the ground.

“Noibat~”

Noibat chirped at Skarmory.

“Skarmory!”

Skarmory spread its wings and soared into the air.

Wing Attack!

Seeing this, Noibat also spread its wings.

It executed a Wing Attack as well.

They collided fiercely in mid-air.

With the powerful impact, Noibat’s body flipped into the night sky.

Skarmory hit the ground hard.

Bam~

“Damn, you guys…”

Just as Kenjo was about to say something, Torchic rushed excitedly to his front.

“Torchic~”

Whoosh!

Another Ember shot toward Kenjo's head.

“Ah!”

A piercing scream rang out.

His hair was completely set aflame.

Meanwhile, the downed Skarmory had already lost battle capability.

“Noibat~”

Under the moonlight, Noibat let out a cry.

Its body was enveloped in light!

“Noivern~”

As the light faded, Noivern soared gracefully through the night sky of the farm, producing a resonant cry.

At the perimeter of the farm, inside the Water Tribe ruins,

Onami and Watanabe arrived at the place Natsume had visited last time.

Surrounding them were waterways, with a dirt wall in front.

“Indeed, this is the Water Tribe ruins.”

Watanabe observed the murals and said, “This must have been a refuge left behind by the Water Tribe.”

“Wait, this stone wall seems a bit off.”

Onami stood in front of the dirt wall, examining it.

The necklace around her neck began to emit a faint glow.

Natsume hadn't noticed this during his last visit.

“Something's off?”

“Let me take a look.”

Natsume set down his phone and walked up to the dirt wall.

He used his Psychic ability to cover the wall and then felt a slight tremor.

The dirt immediately fell away, revealing a bronze door inside the wall.

There was a groove on the door.

Onami thought for a moment and then placed her necklace into the groove.

Click~ Click click~

The sound of mechanical movement echoed around.

The bronze door opened.

Inside, there was also a waterway.

On both sides of the waterway, there were some long-abandoned buildings.

An Octillery was doing something in front of one of the buildings.

It was startled by the sudden appearance of Natsume and the others and quickly jumped into the water.

“Octillery?”

Onami looked at the Pokémon in surprise.

“It’s an Octillery.”

Natsume understood why Onami was surprised.

After all, Octillery typically lived in the ocean.

Natsume spoke up, “It seems that this place might lead directly to the sea.”

However, more than that, Natsume was more interested in the necklace around Onami's neck.

Onami noticed Natsume’s gaze on her necklace and explained, “This is a token of the Water Tribe.”

“It has been passed down through generations.”

“So if this mechanism was established by our ancestors, this token should definitely be able to unlock it.”

Natsume thought to himself: The technology of this world truly spans from ancient times to the modern era.

Natsume said, “Remarkable technology.”

“Let’s go see what else is inside.”

Natsume and Onami walked into the abandoned building together.

It looked like it had indeed been deserted for a long time, and they didn’t find anything useful.

Gardevoir used Inner Focus to scan the houses.

Gardevoir discovered a wooden box.

Inside the box were many books.

Music theory, history, biographies.

Various types of literature.

These books were likely the most valuable items here.

Natsume planned to take them back and add them to his study.

Ding dong.

His phone kept buzzing with notifications.

Notice: Infernape gained 7,243 experience points in the team battle.

Notice: Torchic gained 2,022 experience points in the team battle; Torchic’s level has increased to level 10.

Notice: Noibat gained 9,032 experience points in the team battle; Noibat’s level has increased to level 48.

Notice: Noibat has evolved into Noivern.

Notice: Noivern learned new moves: Dragon Pulse, Moonlight.

Natsume looked at the notifications on his phone and murmured, “It evolved.”

He had already learned from Rotom about the invasion of the farm.

Since Dragonite and Serperior were at the farm, Natsume wasn’t worried and didn’t feel the need to rush back.

“Natsume, is something happening?”

Onami noticed that Natsume had been looking at his phone and asked.

“It’s nothing; Rotom just told me that a few intruders have come to the farm.”

“Ah?”

Watanabe hurried over and said, “Shouldn’t we go back then?”

Natsume shrugged, “Have you kept an eye on things?”

Onami nodded, “The farm is definitely more important.”

“Alright, let’s go.”

Gardevoir used Psychic to lift the wooden box.

With a shake,

Natsume and the others instantly disappeared.

Inside the farm gym.

“That was a pretty brutal beating.”

A young man in uniform looked at Kenjo and the others lying on the ground, covering their faces.

It was hard to watch.

Against intruders, the farm’s Pokémon would naturally hold nothing back.

Infernape and the others attacked with the same intensity whether they were hitting people or Pokémon.

The one who was least injured was actually Kenjo, who was attacked by Torchic.

He had merely suffered some burned skin.

This indicated just how bad things were for the others.

Umikawa was a ranger from the Eastern Region.

His task this time was to assist Natsume in protecting Manaphy’s Pokémon egg.

After the conflict at the farm broke out, he quickly arrived.

However, the battle ended just as quickly.

Umikawa picked up his phone and stepped aside to report: “The intruders have all been taken down.”

“Their injuries are quite severe; do we need to conduct a rescue?”

The voice on the phone replied, “Let’s wait until Gym Leader Natsume returns.”

“Understood.”

While Umikawa was speaking, he noticed Natsume and his group flying in from the sky.

Umikawa immediately said, “Gym Leader Natsume is back.”

After hanging up the phone, he ran toward Natsume as he landed, accompanied by Infernape.

“Great job, everyone.”

Natsume smiled at Infernape and the others. “You all protected the farm.”

“Noivern~”

Noivern swooped down from the sky.

“Finally evolved, Noivern.”

“Noivern~”

Noivern happily stretched out its huge bat-like wings.

Before its evolution, Noivern was only about the size of two palms and was still perched on Natsume’s shoulder.

But now, Noivern stood over 1.6 meters tall.

“Gym Leader Natsume.”

Umikawa stepped forward a couple of paces from behind Noivern and said, “I’m Umikawa, a ranger from the league.”

Natsume glanced at him and nodded slightly. “Wait a moment.”

Natsume walked toward the group.

Kenjo, seeing Natsume approach, exclaimed angrily, “I’m a member of the Unova League!”

“How dare you directly attack a trainer? I will definitely report you!”

Natsume found this statement somewhat amusing.

“Gardevoir, Hypnosis.”

Gardevoir's pupils emitted a faint glow.

Kenjo's expression shifted from anger to fear, gradually turning blank.
