A Compromise

Okay...so I've been going over this in my head. I want support for Bedlam to help drive the patreon upwards, but right now, 300 might be a bit much...

Keep in mind that when I first put that goal down, we were much closer to that mark, but somehow support just diminished to point we're at now. The build itself was also at a much earlier developmental stage at that time. With that said, I've reasoned that it actually may be a little unfair to have patrons hold out to that point, for a much earlier build than what they've seen in previews.

So I've lowered the requirement for build 0 to 250 instead.

To the 236 current supporters, and the 600+ followers of this patreon...I still want to see that this game can push support in a positive direction. Some how, some way, can we get 14 more people to support, if you really want to see this game happen? After that, build 1 can be the 300 mark.

As mentioned, having some semblance of what build 1 will look like might be a motivator for some. I haven't gotten it to the desired point yet, but build 1 will have:

Along with any updates you've seen thus far of course. Any thoughts or concerns, let me know.

At the beginning of a month when charges are processed, canceled memberships as well as declined payments are subtracted from the overall count. Usually, some return within time in the case of a declined payment.

there are other similar projects that are near release in this world. suppose patience is up

Alexandukr

It was there, it was right there and support dropped by like 30 people, what happened?

Ikr MBR is a perfect game. I’m so very enamored with it that I made a fanfic continuing the story, and I keep having thoughts to continue the story even further in a regular basis. I’m a lazy writer tho. I should probably publish what I’ve written somewhere (once I find the right platform) to attract new fans. Insert Markiplier meme; “This right here is my favorite thing ever, in the history of forever! I think about this every day, I think about this all night long. I stay awake not sleeping because I'm thinking about this.”

Orthrus

I believe this is a step in the right direction, lets get those extra 14 people everyone!

The only reason I mentioned Marvel snap was because of graphics specifically, there is a lot of unity slop all over the internet, and it all looks the same to me tbh. Unity has creative avenues you can go into, but most of the time when I see a unity game, it looks the same as the last one with different models. I’m not looking for AAA quality or anything, obviously. It’s unrealistic to expect it. I just don’t want to see people drop bomb’s content because of the unity art

NoonShade

maybe you could release some of the exclusive stuff that most people don't have or have access to? could give a small boost

Just want to make clear that 2D is not entirely off the table...But for the longest time, I did want to try working with 3D and to that end, Unity was the right direction. So far I'm enjoying it a lot, but there has been, and continues to be a learning curve, and learning another program simultaneously is probably not the best for productivity. Yes, I am also aware that Unity is capable of 2D development as well, but that is also its own caveat. I do thank and appreciate everybody who has had patience with me thus far, as I get accustomed to this.

Any tier.

Yh I became infatuared(literally) lol with the way bomb made animations(the flash ones). First game I played was MBR( monster beater reiki) it was basically the perfect h game for me with the awesome animations and even the story lol then another awesome one I played was phoenix vs pantera this one was also RLLY amazing....now, demon tale looks cool but compared to his past games even tho its not nearly finished demon tale doesnt compare at all.... in my opinion

Dark OG13

I think it is unreasonable to expect AAA levels of quality like you get from a massive development team. I have no idea how many people were involved in the making of marvel snap. It surely was more than one person. That is not entirely the point, however. I think I have seen a commissioned game floating about that looks further along than either of these current patreon offerings. Then again, I have no interest in demon tale for those interested in full disclosure. Bedroom bedlam is more my speed, and seeing that game get more attention is what I'd personally like to see. On one hand, I get it that the basic idea here is to support the creator. On the other hand, said creator has gone so far away from what I had originally supported. Flash based games are fundamentally dead at this point, so I completely get it that moving on was the right thing to do. Is moving on to unity the right move? What about pixel game maker? I know that I have close to zero ability to program anything myself, so I am a spectator at this point no matter what.

Well Demon tail was the game that got me into supporting you from the very start tho I know you never really focus it to hard compared to other mini games you made; but you will still have my support Tho I still hope you will make a Male controlled character vs monster girls *femdom game*^^' but I will still cross my fingers that you would make that happen one day but I won't count on it. Yeah that was a wild turn for me too, I’ve been supporting consistently since 2021, the art is what initially got me into it. Even though I was 50/50 on the games/content there were things about each mini game’s approach to their art that i could enjoy. Rn the art style for bedlam and demon tail have been worked out to be standard low poly unity models. It’s starting to look like we’re far from incorporating the old style into unity(fun fact, marvel snap was made in unity, it’s an engine with loads of potential).

NoonShade

i think there are 2 major reasons why the support dropped. First: a lot of people had a change in financial situation with the geopolitical turbulences that were going on. Second: You chose to completly abandon the artstyle that your supporters were drawn to. even as a gamedew you still are also an artist and changing that probably threw a lot of people off

Matthias Zimmermann

I’ve been on and off supporting for a long time now, and the only reason I’ve supported less was due to the slow pace of things and randomly dropped stuff. Obviously this is not your main source of income, and a hobby type deal, but I’ve decided over the past year to keep my support consistent simply to help promote your hobby rather than worry about how I feel about it. Your content is always good, even when it’s short. I don’t really care for bedlam that much, but I respect the votes, and I’ll still play the game and continue to support you, because i know it’ll turn out fine, you have a good track record for quality

NoonShade

what tier do we have to be for it to count towards that number

Al

I would love to help, but unfortunately I don't have the connections. Either way I wish you luck and hope you can get the supporters. I really want to see Bedlam made.

AJ Havi

Yeah this is good stuff here. Still supporting ya 👍

Jaspe

After reading the change, I’ve decided to support you again after a hiatus of several months. The main reason why I stopped supporting was that demon tail work only with a control, something I don’t have and don’t see why I should buy one for only one developing game. So I was waiting for the version with mouse and keyboard. So why I’ve come back now? Well Bedlam is something that caught my eye and since we are so close to the new magic number, I’ve decided to give it a go. I sure hope other will follow so we can finally have the first built of bedlam.
