I think “the genius” wasn’t referring to Caboose but instead to Dr. Grey. SHE was the one who put Freckles in the gun. If I recall they reiterate this in Season 13. Still Caboose IS really good with tech. He’s put Epsilon into an ancient artefact orb and a Mongoose. He reactivated Freckles. He’s some kind of savant!

I think the vast majority of RvB fans didn’t buy it but it’s SO good. A combination of TONS of references from across the series run but also a treasure trove of cool new things. There’s some great original stories in there!
