GTA V update v1.0.3323.0
Added 2024-09-17 19:12:28 +0000 UTCUpdate 28 september 2024
ScriptHookV has been updated for version v1.0.3337.0! Since v1.0.3337.0, the ScriptHookV author has put in a menu of sorts inside ScriptHookV itself. I recommend using the version without UI! The version with UI blocks the ~ (tilde) key, which is required to open some of my mods by default.
Update 20 september 2024
ScriptHookV has been updated! Grab it here: http://www.dev-c.com/gtav/scripthookv/
The original message still applies: BattlEye still needs to be turned off and you should still make backups :)
The original message continues below:
First of all, CREATE BACKUPS of your existing game installation! More about this below. Do not try to start the game, this will cause the new files to be installed.
BattlEye anti-cheat

Today, Rockstar released an update for GTA V which installs BattlEye, a fairly invasive anti-cheat. While having BattlEye enabled, this completely stops mods from working by blocking dinput8.dll, which is generally used to load mods.
Luckily Rockstar allows this anti-cheat to be turned off in the Rockstar Games Launcher settings, so single-player mods may continue to function after ScriptHookV has been updated to support the latest version of the game. The screenshot above shows what to uncheck.
ScriptHookV

As written above: ScriptHookV needs to be updated to be able to continue using mods on updated game versions. At the time of writing, Rockstar just released the update. It's generally expected of Alexander Blade (the ScriptHookV author) to update it in several days to a bit over a week. Here, you can't do much but to wait.
Check http://www.dev-c.com/gtav/scripthookv for an updated version. You'll know there's a new version if the "Released" is after 16 September 2024, and/or Version is v1.0.3323.0.
What you can do in the meantime

Create backups.
Back up your current version of the game. The needed files are listed above. I will not distribute these to you, it is your own responsibility to backup existing game versions. Once you have backed up the affected files, allowing the game to be updated and then restoring the files may allow you to continue playing on the old version of the game. Depending on game launcher (Rockstar Games Launcher, Epic Games, Steam) this may or may not work, though Steam is sure to work this way.
How it affects my scripts
At the time of writing, it's not clear if much in the game itself has changed, or this update is just to add BattlEye. If no big changes are made, my scripts should still be compatible once ScriptHookV updates, and mostly leaves me unaffected.
If there are changes to vehicle code, I may need to return to update existing releases (Manual Transmission and Custom Gear Ratios) before resuming work on what I'm busy with. This is still unknown for now, but I think I will not be affected much by this update.

I setup a hotkey for those items on the keyboard and then steering wheel but I’m unable to get it to turn on for some reason. When I press the buttons it shows them working in the dialog box

2025-01-01 14:38:46 +0000 UTCThanks - It should work with the latest version, but you do need to assign a hotkey to activate it and increase/decrease speeds.

2024-10-04 19:54:05 +0000 UTCIt's just how the website author set it up. The link is http, but browsers often just change it to https.

2024-09-28 17:42:11 +0000 UTCNvm, it's working. I had to switch from https to http. But, why is not secured though?

2024-09-28 17:26:39 +0000 UTCYeah, always grab the latest one. Be aware that the ScriptHookV author added a menu inside ScriptHookV itself (and blocks the tilde key). This applies since the v1.0.3337.0 version, but he has indicated he'll be releasing another version without the bloat.
