Canvas: The art of being

"Hold this for me, would you?"

...

Haven's brush strokes may be crude (charitably, one might call them impressionistic), but the marks she daubs on Canvas's body are not intended to be seen. Rather it is the feeling of the bristles and the cool, thick paint on her lover's skin that are the medium.

Canvas slips into a kind of trance state as her Adapted form is decorated; to become Haven's artwork is to touch her nirvana. Haven works freely, following her impulses and flooding the spaces between Canvas's tattoos with colour. For both of them it's an antidote to the outside world, a chance to be together and express themselves in the rawest form.

Later, Haven draws her helpless lover into her arms and begins to stimulate her more directly. As Canvas loses herself in the pleasure of being a living embodiment of creativity, Haven's mind is already imagining the art they will create together tomorrow...
