The Greatest Caterpillar (And patreon thoughts)

Firstly! A celebration!

I wasn't sure if I'd get any this year, but I was in fact graced with a single (1) monarch butterfly caterpillar in my garden! I saw the adults fluttering around, but you can never know if they'll find your abode satisfactory.

Anyway, in an effort to be more clear with how I'm feeling I'd like to outline some of my thoughts on using patreon as a platform for project updates.

It's a bit of a relic right now. I had always meant to set it up "properly" but never got around to it. In fact, it was always meant to be used as a tip jar (like Ko-fi) rather than how patreons are typically used (community driven).

While I would like to reward people for paying more money for supporting me, I don't think that model will work towards making me happy. And I know, I know, many of you have given me money just to show support- and I do appreciate it.

But I guess I worry about satisfying people once money becomes involved. I don't want to feel like I'm disappointing people, even if they're perfectly happy no matter what I decide to do. I guess I have a hard time believing that?

I'd like for people to be able to comment- but there's no way to allow that for free. Same with the rest of the community tools.

I could drop the tiers down to a single $1 tier, then pause the billing cycle every month so only a single $1 would be spent. That is the best workaround that I could think of, anyway.

Anyway, I'd appreciate hearing any opinions on the matter. Thanks.

We will always appreciate our chicken-loving fox no matter what you decide. Of course there are many platforms that are friendly towards creators, but all I can think of at the moment is inkbunny. Algthrough it's a furry driven platform and I'm not sure wheither you assotiate yourself with our fandom. Still your adorable characters will always have a special place in my heart.

Yep, Tumblr sounds like an option

It could be time for a different paltform then? Keep the patreon if you'd like for us to continue supporting you, and create a main base of operations elsewhere, or something in between; new platform, ditch the patreon, if you're worried about people not being satisfied with rewards (Although I personally don't believe anybody here would have an issue with that). Tumblr is the main one that comes to mind, and I know artfol is a thing that exists as well. Unfortunately I'm not very familiar with platforms in general, though this is just my two cents on the matter.
