The current part is actually pretty controversial. A decent amount of folks don't really like how there's a lot of narration. Some didn't like it in the manga. Some didn't think narration translated all that well to the anime. Personally, I think both the manga and anime did a great job and that it was the right choice to provide a 3rd person perspective to give viewers a good idea of what's going on and what's going through the people/creatures involved. And I also think it adds a certain level of freshness, a type of storytelling we haven't really seen so far (although the entire arc took a different approach to storytelling in HxH as well). Netero also isn't exactly a 'good' person. He's actually rather cheeky and misschievous and not just when there's children around. Even in the past you saw he just walked in and flexed. He spent years giving gratitude to martial arts... then walks into a dojo and flexes like a complete chad. But I think it's nice that characters have this kind of depth.
