The inquisitor that died at the end of last season was just called the Grand Inquisitor. He was the "boss" of all the other inquisitors - I mean, they all probably had names at some point, but now they just refer to each other by names like Fifth Brother and Third Sister (Reva) in the Kenobi show, or Second Sister (Trilla) and Ninth Sister in the Jedi Fallen Order game - and of course, ALL of them serve/report to Darth Vader.
BTW, you saw Ahsoka kill the Sixth Brother and take his light saber in the last episode of Tales of the Jedi - she also kills him in the Ahsoka novel, even though that story goes a little bit different.
Also, I will put some good money on you crying at multiple points before the series is over, so better keep your tissues handy... LOL

Okay this is something very important to note, there’s actually two very different versions of the Palpatine scene, the original and the directors cut.
Disney+ had the original version, in it Palpatine is voiced by Sam Witwer (Maul) and appears to be see Vader as his old friend and loyal servant.
But in the directors cut where Palpatine is voiced by Ian McDiarmid (guy from the movies) Palpatine comes across as far more do condescending and short. He appears to take annoyance in Vader, implying he still has active conflict in him over his former life
