yeah, one of the reasons to love HxH is that it starts as nice kids-friendly cheerful show but since season 2 you quickly realize it's for mature audience

It's not like the Jojo's Bizarre Adventure where literally almost every animal you see dies a violent death. Worst animal deaths in anime for me was in Hell Girl (aka Jigoku Shoujo). Pretty sure you'll never watch it, so... I'll mention what happened here. A lady who was 'supposedly' bitten by one of a little girl's dogs locks the dogs up and makes the little girl do things for her, if the little girl doesn't she threatens to kill the dogs. She likely was never bitten, but she had killed her own infant and buried her in the garden and she thought the dogs dug it up, so she blackmailed the little girl. She also killed her own parents and buried them there for the inheritance money The lady is rotten to the core, so she comes up with an excuse and ends up killing both dogs soon after one another. But that's not the worst part... one of the dogs was pregnant and gave birth to a bunch of puppies. The lady gets arrested for her crimes, but... not before she drowned all of the puppies. Quite honestly, that lady is the one anime character I hate the most out of all anime characters.
