They DID NOT have her back - and chose to play politics instead of standing behind one of their own. In a sense, Barriss was right - wrong way to go about it, but correct in her assessment - By this point, the Jedi had gotten so caught up in the war, and their judgement was so clouded by the dark side, that they didn't even realize they were being used as pawns in Palpatine's game.

Think of us when this episode first aired in 2013 - SERIES finale, Clone Wars cancelled, and like you said, she is not in any of the movies - so for all we knew, THAT was the last we would see of her EVER! 😢
