Harley Quinn

Hey everyone, finished the last pin-up of november, Harley Quinn!

I wanted to do her more "pin-up" so she has one of those "surprised" pose but one that fits the character =)

It was really interesting to work on 2 different types of costume, but I have to say I enjoy both (for different reasons lol)

So let me know which one is your favourite!

ps. you can find both on the attachments

thank you! I'm glad you like them!

Lee

thanks! I thought it would be really cool for this character this "fake surprise" lol

Lee

You continue to amaze me with each successive piece of artwork you post. Bravo sir, bravo!

I am sure no one has been hurt in the making of these images. I got to say the classic outfit will always be my favorite, though I also have to admit that I did not watch the new movie. Non the less fantastic work on both versions. I think you made the surprised expression come through quite nicely.

Thanks! It was really cool to work on both outfits for different reasons. The modern outfit has more texture and shapes, and I REALLY liked to do her jacket. This type of cloth shading is something that is hard but really rewarding to do. Plus I love hair with mixed colors, I think it gives a nice effect. The classic outfit was interesting as well specially the "hood", since the rest is basically figure out how to adapt the texture from the body to a new material. And it also has the plus side of emphasizing her figure without anything on the way. And despite the setting being somewhat simple, I like the camera angle and how the spotlight frames the image =).

Lee

I'm undecided lol

Lee

Yeah I think the modern one looks more like something she just put/sewed together. The old one is more in line with the classic batman where each villain was almost cartoony.

Lee

thanks!

Lee

I honestly don't know as well. There are parts that I like more from both

Lee

thanks, I really liked those expressions from older pin-ups, so I tried to do something similar!

Lee

He was already there and the bat was already bloddied, clearly!

Great work once again on this pinup. I really like the colours in this piece with the vibrant Harley popping out against the multiple greys of the brick wall. The colour transitions in her hair as the blue and red blend into the white is very well done. And I also really like how you've framed Harley with the spot-light and how she casts a shadow onto the wall, as well as how the shadow wraps over her thighs, further accentuating her shapes. The level of detail is just as terrific as ever with the intricately painted strands of hair, all of the many textures from the brick wall, the wooden bat, the different types of clothing with the material of the jacket and then the shine on her panty-shorts as well as the tears in both her white shirt and fishnets. The many compressed folds spreading over her arms and how they each look quite different in blue and red looks terrific. Her face is just fantastic too, she has this wonderfully cute, surprised look and her luscious, dark lips pop so nicely against her illuminated pale skin. You also did a marvellous job on the classic outfit with a great deal of detail in the creases in the outfit and how her body/anatomy shows through the tightened material. I also really like how the red and black sections appear to be different materials with the red shining while the black doesn't. The folds and crumpling of the sections on her head (I'm not sure what to call those dangly things) is also very well done too and I appreciate the silly, smily face on her mallet. It's a nice mix of funny and dark given the blood also smearing the wood (which also looks great with the textures and chipping across it) I'm really not sure which version I like more, they're both so very good in different ways, though one thing they both excel at is in the displaying of that booty! πŸ˜‰πŸ˜»πŸ˜»πŸ˜»πŸ˜»πŸ˜» Always fun to see you paint bums as you are just magnificent at it and Harley here shows that very well. All in all, fantastic work on this piece and well done on taking on two versions, that extra effort put in is very commendable πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Both look awesome but I love the original Harley better^^

I like β€œA” Harley (new outfit) better though it’s hard to say exactly why. I think part of it is the colors; there’s more variety and contrast with the background so she pops more. I also think part of it is the A outfit feels more practical and natural to me which makes that scene more believable.

Huh. She has a really cute, playful expression.

Both are great, not sure which I prefer yet tbh.

That looks awesome friend! Love the whole innocent look when we all damn well know she's anything but. XD

Draven Shadow

Looks like the first one to surprise her ended up on the wall, haha.
