What has been happening in the last few days

Hello guys!

I have some news about the modpack, as a lot of things happened this last few days. First of all, a lot of team members were hired! I am very lucky to have the opportunity to work with these people, so let me introduce you to our current team:

Developers:

Spriters:

Progression Designers:

Now that we composed the team, we can now start thinking more seriously about the development!

Now, I also come today with some bad news, the fact that we have 130 people with the contributor tier, meaning 130 donor items to do, created a sort of drama in the community, regarding the impossibility of delivering on the donor items, which came all the way to the ears of the main developers of the original content mods that we planned to add. We talked about it and cleared the situation, but the Spirit mod devs ultimately decided to withdraw from the project and asked for the Spirit mod not to be included in the modpack. Please respect their decision and no not harass them for it, it will make the whole situation even worse.

So, I talked with the main devs / owners of the other major content mods to clear up any misconceptions they had about this Patreon and the donor items, and resolved the situation.

We are now left with Calamity, Thorium, Fargo and Secret of the Shadows as main content mods. This may seem like a lot less content, but it is still basically combining 5 games together, so it will still represent a lot of content. Further more, developers from existing compatibility mods advised me to reduce the scope of the project, as making the 7 mods we originally planned for compatible would be almost impossible to do while maintaining quality according to them. So now our goal is making everything possible to make the mods we are allowed to work with work with each other, and make the Bereft Souls a reality, and with the amazing team that we composed I have no doubt that the final product will turn out great!

Maybe you could do something like have contributors work together on donor items. A good system would be if contributors were allowed to pitch an idea visible to everyone else and if the idea got backed by at least 3-5 people then that item could be added. That way people could get the items they think are coolest, and could possibly compromise on what the items do and look like so everyone in the 3-5 group is happy.

Wow you predicted this

I feel like this was a decently big administrative/management mistake on the part of the team, considering the precedent with Calamity requiring $50 or more per month of support to receive donor items. I love the support this mod pack is getting but I feel this could’ve been avoided, and it doesn’t inspire confidence for how well this will continue to be managed. I also can’t be the only one that feels concern over this initial slip up so early in the project
