Excerpt from Corpulent Gamers Quarterly Issue #44

If you are a huge fan of walls of text, then today is your lucky day. If not, I recommend you read until the end of the next sentence, and then cover your eyes while backing away slowly.

The game is almost done, but needs a bit more time.

Here's a (somewhat) concrete overview of what's left. I had considered all of the art to be done, but there's a part in the game that I was never really happy with, so I decided to rework it a bit. It will require a small handful of new art. Besides that I would say the programming is somewhere around 80% done, and then there's a fair amount of audio stuff left.

When the game is done, I also plan to spend around a week or so testing it, something I never really did with previous games. My (very unhealthy) process for making/releasing games so far has been to make the game functional, finish everything else, and then release it on the very same day it gets finished, barely tweaking the gameplay beyond however it initially turned out. That's why, historically, the stuff I've made tends to flip-flop between probably too hard and trivially easy: it's because barely any or even no time at all was spent testing how it plays in the hands of anyone who didn't make the game. While there really isn't much of a difficulty component to this game in particular, I still want to spend at least a little time reviewing the full, finished game before it releases, rather than shoving it out of the gate mere minutes after writing the last piece of code.

I think I've said this multiple times by now, but I do still kinda want to temper expectations in regards to what exactly this game is. While I can confidently say that this is the most work I've put into anything ever, it's also the most... offbeat thing I've done. It was originally meant for april 1st, which, well... I think that will be apparent when you get to play it. For better or for worse, this is the most "me" thing I've ever made. (it's still a game about fat women don't worry)

Here's hoping that this is the last thing I have to write on the subject, and the last thing you have to read. Thank you for your patience throughout all this, none of it would be possible without your continued support.
