The food critic situation is very frustrating because Norma's mother is using a pseudonym for her job, which allows her to present her view of the RR Diner as the opinion of a neutral 3rd party; whereas if she used her actually name at least some people might be able to connect the bad review to the family dynamics at play. If she wants to talk ethics, then she wouldn't have done a review of her daughter's diner at all.
