When you rewatch, make sure to pay attention to every word of Jane's letter. It will give you a little incite into his character. Please consider adding Pluribus, the new Vince Gilligan of Breaking Bad's fame, to your poll! I'm sure that there are a lot of older shows that you want to get to, but I'd love to see you react to this one as it happens so you have the best chance of avoiding spoilers.

Other writers, if they create someone compelling, would never want to kill them off, but Whedon will do it without compunction if it makes for a better story, secure in his confidence that he can always come up with someone else just as interesting. "If you can't run, crawl. And if you can't crawl. you get someone to carry you." If the show needs a philosophy, or a mission statement, that will do for one.

2025-11-07 23:08:12 +0000 UTCThis was actually the final episode filmed for the series, and it was during the filming of the funeral sequence at the end that the cast and crew were informed that the show had been cancelled, so the sombre mood and sadness on their faces is very real. The composer also had this in mind when writing the music for that scene. As many mistakes as Tracey made, I always feel so bad for him at the end, not to mention Zoe and Mal for having to kill him. As Dan said in his comment, you might recognise Tracey's actor from both Buffy and Angel. You know it's a Whedon show when they recycle actors lol
