2024-06-29 10:39:20 +0000 UTCFrom the years I've heard this album, I've never once interpreted Milk and Cookies in that way and it's actually a great interpretation and makes an already dark song darker so kudos on that. It's likely been disclosed to you now but basically the album has a lot of a visual art from music videos to the storybook in the album artwork which aid in telling the story of Cry Baby which is a fictionalized version of Melanie and her life experiences but more embellished and darker. It's a coming of age story but made more twisted. but Milk and Cookies and Tag, You're It are fictional and specifically tied to Cry Baby the character but of course about ever so real things. It would be pretty cool if you'd react to the music videos if you have the time or at least watch them privately whenever you get the change The story picks up in K-12 which has a feature length movie attached to it

Blood still stains, sex happens whether you mean for it to or not, and syrup is still syrup to me is hiding alcohol in sippy cups or other containers, it’s still “syrup”. “he’s still dead when he’s done with the bottle” - He’s drinking but even though the bottles done, he’s still dead inside it didn’t fix the problem.

Her music videos are so good in this era and i always loved the way the verses in alphabet boy were lines where most of the words in the verses started with a/b/c/d

2024-06-10 11:20:10 +0000 UTCI’m so happy you finally listened to this. I’ve been waiting for this since you first said you were interested in her. I know you’re not really a music video person, but hers definitely add to the experience. Even if you just watch them on your own, I highly recommend them. I think she has one for every song on the album. And it’s like a whole story. Very reminiscent of Tropico. They’re very surreal and they have that cozy creepy vibe you like. In Alphabet Boy I’ve always thought that the random noises are her sounding out the letters. Ah-ah-ah, buh-buh-buh. Also all the lines in the verses are themed to a, b, c, d.
