Excuse this post as I’m a week behind on DS9 episodes. You two foodies were of course musing about the separate replicators used for food and drinks in Quarks and the Replimat. So my question is regarding the quality of food and beverages from replicators. Do you think it’s the quality of the “recipes” fed into the replicator or the quality or sophistication of the tech of the replicators that affects the quality of the food it produces? I imagine the Replicator 1000 is a superior product to the Pakled made ReploKaytoor Plus. I assume the name Replimat is a play on words of the Automats which were popular fast food restaurants where simple foods and drinks were served by vending machines and there was typically no waitstaff. These were popular at the turn of last century until about the 70s when the modern day fast food chains took over. I’m not invoking a Prime Corrective but it was never established that Quark owned or ran the Replimat. According to Memory Alpha the Replimat did not feature Ferengi foods as per the DS9 episode Rules of Acquisition. I have not watched that episode in decades so we’ll have to wait to see why.

So Tim Russ was in the Movie Star Trek Generations sharing a Screen with Kirk, TNG (got hit with a saddle by Picard), Deep Space Nine with Sisko, Voyager with Janeway, and Picard Season 3... what a generational talent
