If you don't know the episode gets its title from the song Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered by Rodgers and Hart from the musical Pal Joey. I think one of the things we're learning about a lot of our characters, certainly Xander and Willow, is that there is a lot of loving two people at once going on. In Xander's case I think it's the classic "She's just a friend, I don't think of her like that." All of these feelings aren't exclusive to each other and that's what's making things so complicated. Phrased another way, I think Xander becomes enamoured with the girls in his life very easily and then subsequently becomes very jealous and overprotective, whether he's involved with that person or not.
