Dinner & A Movie - ON HOLD - but wait, there’s more!

Hey everybody!! Okay, so I have two new movie series (as in series on my channel) that I want to start up soon & because of that, Dinner & a Movie is going to be put on hold while I get into the new swing of things!!

The two new movie series in question?:

- The Greatest Film of All Time (A movie re-watch/review of my favorite movies ever - some serious, some not so much haha)

- WhoDunnIt? (Watching murder mysteries old & new, and trying to guess the ‘whodunnit’ aspect before it’s revealed! Maybe I’ll even keep a point system…1 point for a name, 2 points for a motive?)

Full reactions & reviews will be posted on Patreon under the Balcony tier for these going forward!!!

With this being said - this is not the end of Dinner & Movie - just a pause.

Also - please reccomend some of your favorite murder mysteries below for me to add to my list!!!

"So I Married an Axe Murderer" mostly has the mystery element, but it's really well done. And so funny.

Xander Strickland

"The Crimes of the Black Cat" is a great mystery movie, if maybe a bit obscure.

What great ideas! I can’t wait :) As someone else suggested, Shutter Island and Gone Girl would be great. I’ve been meaning to rewatch both for a while now. Also, the girl on the train is a captivating watch. Any of the Agatha Christie mysteries too!

Jack Stankovic

Charmed would be great

Quentin Denizon

literally 2 comments above lol

Agreed. Cass, if you do watch this I suggest the "Extended Version" on Netflix

John Colson

She has reacted to it for a Dinner and a Movie, I think 2 months ago.

Hmm... I have a couple of possibilities if you haven't seen them: "Once upon a Crime" and "What Lies Beneath". "The Girl with a Dragon Tattoo" Trilogy might be another one.

Michael Labs

I haven't seen anyone recommend Knives Out yet, that's a great one!

Avalon Perry

A bunch of mysteries jump to mind.... Identity; Brick; Sherlock Holmes; Kiss Kiss Bang Bang; Girl with the Dragon Tattoo; Shutter Island; Gone Girl; Presumed Innocent; Memento and The Usual Suspects.

DoubleJ

Don't know a ton, first one I thought of was definietly Knives Out!

Yani Dodge

If one finds out who's done it in this one before the last couple of minutes I would be very much impressed, lol

Minister Kosh

some newer murder mystery movies that I found really enjoyable and funny were: Murder Mystery 1 & 2, and also Knives out movie series was also a great watch!

Sam

While being a Tarantino rollercoaster, The Hateful Eight also qualifies as a delicious whodunnit.

A couple of movies that are great mysteries, but not classic "whodunnit": 1. "The Game" with Michael Douglas and Sean Penn. The entire movie is a mystery/psychological thriller that has you trying to figure out what's going on and what's real or fake. 2. "The Manchurian Candidate" - I think I recommended this on another video, but it is another psychological thriller where you trying to figure out who is behind the craziness that's happening! Sorry this is vague, but I don't want to give anything away. I'm looking forward to the new series!

Any movie connected to Agatha Christie is a great "whodunnit." I recommend "Murder on the Orient Express" or "And Then There Were None." I also enjoyed the Adam Sandler and Jennifer Anniston "Murder Mystery" movies on Netflix. They were light-hearted and had a good mystery.

Kari

Another recommendation is "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?"

Leah W.

If you are interested in some older films, you should definitely watch "In the Heat of the Night" (1967) and "The Long Goodbye" (1973).

Leah W.

I'm going to suggest "Wild Things" (1998) as underrated fun for the Whodunnit category.

Dan

"The Big Easy," 1986 with Dennis Quaid and Ellen Barkin

P.S. If you ever want feature-film-length mystery webseries recs, I have some. Including a couple of murder mystery ones.

Paul Komoroski

Excited for both of these series!

Paul Komoroski

I second that!

Wind River (2017) is an incredible film

Oh and if you haven't seen Memento, that's a must-see mystery. An early Christopher Nolan film.

John Colson

First one of the top of my head is Chinatown (1974). Classic film noir/mystery/drama starring Jack Nicholson.

John Colson

Dont know if you have seen this but I‘d say „The usual Suspects“ definitely counts as a murder mystery.

Minister Kosh

"Prisoners" would be a good one

BobJ

I love both of these ideas! 🎬
