Buffy the Vampire Slayer: 2x6 Full Reaction

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: 2x6 Full Reaction

Comments

yep! have had some wifi issues where i’m at this week - but hoping to have 2x7 up tonight!!

Cassie

John; no, that was in early june

angelcakes

She's currently on a trip with her family.

John Colson

I don't remember her saying anything about a break, but I guess I might have missed it. Hopefully the next couple episodes go up pretty soon. At least we know it'll be a double drop when she does post them.

Chris Peterson

I was wondering the same thing as the Buffy vids are normally up by now. Hope you're okay Cass!

Melissa Reynolds

Hey Cass, are you taking a break from Buffy? Sorry if you explained it in the video, I can't remember if you did. I hope you're doing okay!

Sophia Connolly

Cass, I will add don't change a thing. I love your reactions. Go ahead and take the troll's $$ (why not?) but keep being you.

Ross43

Dating myself, but it was a term we used in grade school even though we were too young to really know what it was all about. It's not a term we used in high school as we had a bigger vocabulary then...

Ross43

If you're going to question her if it's her first series watch or don't like how she does things, maybe follow someone else. I don't even watch BTVS and I know Seth Green wasn't a series regular. Take your negativity and go somewhere else.

John Colson

Why do you care if she isn't giving it her full attention while she checks a notification for maybe 10 seconds during the theme song? That is so odd. It seems to be confusing to you that people actually have lives, were you expecting her to wait to watch the episode until after? If you don't like Taylor Swift, who cares, but if talking about a notification she was excited about for a couple seconds actually affected you so much that you felt the need to write a comment and voice that opinion, maybe you should just not watch her videos? Just a thought.

Sophia Connolly

Please just stop watching her. You are clearly miserable, being weird and accusatory in the comment section of a reaction is genuinely very strange. She knows he's not a regular because he isn't in the theme song, there is nothing confusing about that. Go bother someone else.

Sophia Connolly

Sorry Thomas but your world is the unusual one here.

K Murray

No, Douglas is correct. In the context it was used "fast" absolutely meant easy/slutty. You don't know what you're talking about.

Chris Peterson

It's a reaction video. If you want to watch the episode uninterrupted it's on Hulu.

Bud Haven

How do you know Seth Green isn't a regular?. Sounds like a spoiler. Hate spoilers.

Bud Haven

Thomas. Apologies if I clicked reply on your reply.

K Murray

Sorry, who are you replying to?

Miah

Literally what are you talking about? The show tells you who the regulars and who the guest stars are at the beginning of every single episode. It says the words "Guest star: Seth Green"!

K Murray

Possible spoilery quote but "If you need to borrow my Midol, just ask."

Miah

Um, because he's not in the opening credits? If you don't like her reactions, then don't subscribe. This is two obnoxious comments in a row, but hey, at least you're paying her money to troll her I guess. Just unsubscribe and let the rest of us enjoy her reactions, please.

Miah

How is it that you know that Seth Green isn't a regular? It's more and more starting to seem like this is more of a re-watch for you than a reaction video.

Thomas

If you need to Pause and do something then just Pause and do it ... I'd rather not know why... or that you're not giving this show your full attention. Watching your siblings is one thing having to deal with the dog okay that life ... however being more interested in what some singer is doing ... really??? Reminds me of being on a date with someone who has their nose in their phone all night.

Thomas

Well maybe in your world ... In mine, we had those words easy and slut... Fast meant she moved at a different pace than you expect. Example: some girls wouldn't kiss on the first date. Some girls would kiss the first night you meet them and your not even on a date! This didn't mean that they were, easy you could have just clicked. I'll admit those actions are along the same vector... & a slut does more than just kissing and doesn't have to be easy or fast.

Thomas

Agree it's like Joss Whedon is more confident or has his footing as a director/writer; or the actors understand their charter arcs this episode. They had fun.

So, about Giles and fighting... Normally a watcher will train a potential slayer before they actually become The Slayer (are "called") and get their powers but (context from the film) Buffy was missed until after she was called. So Giles needs to teach Buffy fighting technique (which she'll need to fight other super-powered monsters) but has the problem that in sparring Buffy can easily win against (non-super-powered) Giles just with strength and speed. So overall Giles isn't bad at fighting, he just comes off badly when sparring against a super-hero. (It's worth bearing in mind that Buffy supposedly has super-human speed as well as super-human strength, but we don't see much of it because portraying super-human speed in a non-incredibly-cheesy way is hard, particularly if you're making a TV show in the 90s...)

Dan

Loved your reaction. Was waiting for this one. I consider this the true start to the golden age of Buffy. We've had some great episodes and good world-building so far, but here is where it takes off in my opinion. Minor, inconsequential spoiler question via rot13 to translate: Qvq gurl erirefr gur vzntr bs Bm'f ina? Gur fgrrevat jurry vf ba gur evtug fvqr, yvxr jvgu HX-fglyr iruvpyrf. Miah

A fast woman was a 1980's/90's way of saying she was easy or a slut.

Douglas Robertson

Larry was the pirate that went after Buffy and that Xander beat up.

Vicky N

Spike just wants to rack up the W's, man. No soul, no remorse, it's not about doing anything honourable it's about accomplishing his goals and right now that seems to be that he and Dru want their "run of Sunnyhell" as he puts it although of course we don't yet know why. However he certainly seems to relish in the fight at the same time lol, but it seems those things aren't mutually exclusive.

Absolute0

It was so good seeing how much you enjoyed this episode, lol. It’s definitely one of my favourites. Top 5 easily!

Jack Stankovic

It was a demon that got into the house but the weapon of choice is often a stake no matter the creature being battled. But yes, vampires do need an invite to get in.

aeronitz

Thank you ❀️

Just commenting to say I am also on the "Surprise-Song O'Clock" notification train -- I'm going to the July 15th show, and my ideal surprise songs have been slowly been whittled away to a point where I'm like "I guess its okay that I wasn't there for that one..." no matter what occurs. I'm sure I'll be excited to matter what, but I definitely died inside the night that both 'Maroon' and 'Getaway Car' were played without me there to witness it in person πŸ˜…

boleynns

Ooooh... I forgot about "Ripper"; yeah, Giles has a history. And I'll guess that it is the reason he is the way he is now...

Michael Labs

No doubt. That's practically the state soft drink of Texas you're bad-mothing there. (The actual state beverage is milk, which is obviously some ancient and decrepit politician BS.)

Myoclonic Jerk

My theory with the whole "vampire in the house" was that it was just a human dressed as a vampire, and therefore didn't have to follow the same rules.

Tim Pierce

Oh Cassie how can you expect an evil soulless killer vampire like Spike to have any interest in fighting honorably. He fights to win!! And he's smart enough to retreat as soon as he knows he can't win as we have now seen him do twice. This is in my top 10 episodes and I loved finding out Gile's has a past. The look you had at that reveal was awesome, I loved it.

Stephen Knueppel

In fairness, it was a pretty dated slang term even by 1997. I didn't get it when it was broadcast, either. To this day, I've never heard anyone use it in that context in my everyday life, and the only other place I can remember hearing it off the top of my head was in an INDIANA JONES film. :-)

Darryl Gillikin

Programs not all that dissimilar from the "Take the kids trick or treating" weren't at all uncommon in the 80s and 90s, especially in small towns where everyone knew each other. And although Sunnydale certainly sees a lot of paranormal action I think supposed to be pretty small-towny and unexciting in the conventional sense. And in truth those types of programs weren't really meant for the safety of the children but rather an attempt to keep the adolescents out of trouble on Halloween night. Probably one of the ones that a lot of folk were waiting for you to get to. Not a lot to point out about how fun and well done it is that you already didn't mention. I suspect its a lot people's favourites, I know it's one of mine. Dude, Xander is fuckin' yolked πŸ’ͺ Can't wait for the next one as always, imma just go rewatch the "Ripper" reveal reaction now.

Absolute0

"Fast" as in fast to sleep with someone is what Larry meant.

Jonathan Hall

Cass: *slanders Dr. Pepper* Me: *looks for the cancel subscription button* ... nah, I'll forgive you. This time. :-)

Darryl Gillikin

Oh yes... πŸ₯³πŸ‘ Watching now!
