Another fantastic reaction! I cannot wait for the next š
Iām eager to see your view of Mr Snyder as his character becomes more developed. Same with Joyce, for that matter.

Why is Joyce so absent? Because she's not a main cast member.

Snyder: "But he was eaten."
"Why did he say just say that so casually?"
For the comedy!
Every time a reactor begins to have real-world/realistic questions about a supernatural/vampire show, I just shake my head. lol
Loved the reaction, and I'm excited to watch more. :)

I like the theme of your shirt! I've always been an admirer of the works of Genndy Tartakovsky. (If my avatar hasn't given it away yet.)
On that note: There's a buzz about the coming Harry Potter series.
My opinion: I would've preferred if Rolling had given it over to Tartakowsky to cartoonize. Like George Lucas did with the Clone Wars.
It would've given limitless possibility for visuals, especially making the characters look the closest to how Rowling originally imagined them.

Is that her leather jacket? Or is it the one that Angel gave her at the end of 1x04? I guess it's hers now...

I never checked the wiki. I just got that impression from my memories of the show. I could definitely be wrong, but even managing it would still be more work than just a 9 to 5 job.

The wiki says she manages the gallery. ISTR her mentioning it as a job at some point but ICBW.

Pretty sure she owns it. That's why the new shipment that came in was spread out through the kitchen in the witch episode. I don't think an employee would have all that at their house (unless their boss was waaaaaay to trusting, or incredibly naive).

Does she own the gallery? I thought she just works there...

You will get an explanation of how Sunnydale functions with its high mortality rate, eventually

This episode is a one-off, and very much cribbed from other possessed puppet movies, yes, but with a twist that keeps it fresh.
It also does feature the debut of Armin Shimerman as Principal Snyder.
Shimerman was one of the hardest working character actors in scifi and supernatural TV of the 90s and early 2000s. He was a favorite on Star Trek Deep Space Nine, Buffy, Charmed, Beauty and the Beast, etc. You have probably seen him in movies but did not recognize him under the prosthetic makeup.
He now teaches Shakespeare at USC and serves as a Shakespearian Scholar to other productions.

To partly answer a few other issues you raised after this episode:
Why doesn't the town/school freak out more? In the second episode "The Harvest" a bunch of people saw vampires, but afterwards rationalized what they saw because it couldn't have been vampires, since "they don't exist". Admittedly, there are a LOT of weird things that happen, but remember that we (the audience) get see behind the curtain. Most characters in the show do not. I also have a headcanon that since the hellmouth sends out some sort of vibes/mystical energy that draws bad things to it, that it also has a sleight affect on normal people that make them more likely to accept a certain level of weirdness.
Joyce is not just a single working mom, she owns an art gallery, which is much more work than just a 9-5 job, and she still does housework on top of that. She did know that Buffy had tryouts, she just couldn't remember for what. And while Buffy uses many excuses for going out beyond homework, like hanging out at The Bronze with her friends, she can also sneak out after she's "home" by going out the window. Joyce probably often thinks Buffy is asleep in her bed when we see that Buffy is out patrolling. Also, we don't get to see all their interactions such as a quiet dinner at home, but only the times that have significance to the current story.

Sid was at Buffy's window because at the time he thought she was the demon he was hunting.
