100 Brushstroke Headshots

100 brushstroke headshots are kind of a halfway point between study and commission! Obviously a commission because I get paid for them, but it's a study, by way of "brush economy". Brush economy is a concept in painting where you use the least brushstrokes to get the greatest effect, and throughout these practices, on top of keeping track of the number of brush strokes I've made, I'm also always stepping back and thinking, "Okay where can I put my next brushstroke in such a way that it provides the biggest impact?" which is kind of exactly what I need to be thinking in my paintings!
Wonderful exercise! Need to do it more!
