Birdie Step by Step (Finished)
Added 2023-07-02 00:32:47 +0000 UTCIdeation- Figuring out the form and the mood each one gives and how it serves the needs of the commissioner which we talked out beforehand.
Mood Board- Compiling a collection of images that I will use to inspire the impression that I want the final product to give. As this is simple composition, I'm only using a few images.
Form- the form needs to be a bit more precise than I would otherwise go for. Identifiable features typically are more recognizable when they're in the correct proportion. Overlaying the sketch overtop the image helps me make a more precise statement while taking it away and drawing over again let's me keep the expressiveness.
Colors first pass- Putting down a quick swatch of color to capture the mood! I should have spent more time and spared more attention to the mood this palette gave as you'll see me changing it around a bit going forward!
Colors Second pass- really more the details phase. Darkened the sky and did my best to bring those disparate reds yellows and blues closer to the center of the color wheel so they could better communicate better!
Final details and effects- Putting in the final works to communicate the separation between flowers and each object. Changed the background to be more expressive in the way I want. Also added blur to guide the eye where I want you to look!
