He met a girl in high school, they married as soon as they graduated and, a dozen years later, are still married and have two pre-teen daughters. Theirs is as close to a 50s sitcom life as I've ever seen in reality. It DOES happen. I digress, I still think that whenever he's ready to retire these characters, she should get a happy ending. Perpetual cynicism is unhealthy, and retiring characters makes room for new ones, anyway.

In any case, imagine me as the grizzled cop who's just grown weary of lasting misery; I prefer mindless, silly, happy things, to distract from the reality we're forced to inhabit. Keep up the fine work. I'm sure there will be more opportunities to chat about writing in the next decade of me supporting you. :)
