Review: Chovy (Hwei vs Galio)
Added 2024-02-18 14:06:39 +0000 UTCReviewing a SoloQ game of Chovy. In the video, I say alot that he's playing into Faker, but I didn't realize it's just a high Grandmaster player who plays Galio a lot with a similiar name of Faker, so sorry about the confusion. Probably a bit long but some things to learn.

Yeah, if this was competitive play, he would 100% play different. Doing mistakes or weird plays in SoloQ isn't necessarily bad for him, it puts him into scenarios that aren't that familiar so he can learn more

2024-04-16 08:13:11 +0000 UTCyou mentioned that its a solo q game so he might not be playing that serious, in competetive games the game also is played differently obviously but do you think he would avoid the mistakes you mentioned here and hes just auto pilot ? Or do these mistakes also occur in pro play ?

2024-02-20 22:13:09 +0000 UTCIt's not chosen because Electrocute is not as consistent keystone as something like Aery or Comet, and the tree of sorcery is superior to the tree of domination. Manaflow, Transende and Gathering/Scorch are excellent runes while on the other hand you have cheapshot/taste of blood which loses to manaflow, eyeball which is OK (has a huge stacking minigame, you can have games where low kill happens and then it doesn't get stacked) but you value CDR more, and ultimate haste (which is also not very huge on value, Hwei ult is not cast off cooldown most of the time + the ult CD itself is not very long for a mage champion)

2024-02-19 23:21:37 +0000 UTCHello Nemesis, Thanks for the Review! Upon my initial experience with Hwei and understanding his passive, I thought Electrocute would be an excellent keystone choice. Triggering it with just 2 spells, especially in lane with combos like EE QQ, seemed easily achievable. Additionally, I find the Red tree to be a viable option due to its access to cooldown reduction on the ultimate. This can be further optimized by combining it with items like Malignance to significantly reduce the cooldown on the ultimate ability. I'm curious to know your thoughts on why Electrocute is not commonly chosen for Hwei ?

2024-02-19 22:45:55 +0000 UTCYou don't want to play him with too much AP in the teamcomp, preferably Solo AP. You definitely want champions that have synergy with yours, for example CC champions. You don't wanna pick him against champions that are very good into him (either hard engage or they outrange you or something similiar). You want to pick him in a good matchup (for example Cassiopeia is a pretty free matchup). I don't think every game is playable. I think buying Sorcs vs Squishes is good, and Shadowflame can also work.

2024-02-19 20:40:17 +0000 UTCHey Nemesis, do you think Hwei is pickable with/against any teamcomp? Are there teamcomps i want to avoid or would you say every game is playable with the right build and playstyle? Is it ever worth it to run full Mpen builds when im Solo AP vs a lot of squishies? Would be great to have an answer thanks :)

2024-02-19 10:39:44 +0000 UTCNot that it takes too much out of the whole review but the Galio is not faker, just a random named hide on bush. https://www.op.gg/summoners/kr/Hide%20on%20bush-k4882

2024-02-18 21:30:33 +0000 UTCHe used to be very very OP, so slowly they nerfed him over many years since his kit is fantastic for pro play. Nowdays, his numbers are really bad for high elo, but for some reason they aren't really interested in buffing him. He's quite balanced in SoloQ

2024-02-18 17:35:45 +0000 UTCI wonder what happened to Viktor ? He used to be very popular champion in high elo/pro games and now he is just gone? Even Riot forgot about his existence since the last change Viktor received was back in 2020 (excluding durability patch). Kinda sucks he is kept weak because of his iron winrate with 1%pickrate because we dont have a lot of late game monster mages
