I saw this tour when I was 15 in Pittsburgh. My ticket was $35 and I lost my mind. Been a hardcore fan ever since!

One thing in common with those 20 times I did see her though - I've never seen Madonna phone in a performance. She always gives 110%. If you loved Gambler (my fave from this tour) can't wait to have you witness Let It Will Be from The Confessions Tour! So excited for this journey you are on!! Thanks for sharing!

And when Madonna began rehearsing for the tour Freddy hired the band who had tour with the Jacksons for their 1981 Triumph and !1984 Victory Tours. Patrick Leonard was the music director and keyboardist and he would begin writing songs with Madonna on this tour and he'd become her greatest songwriting partner. The opening number jacket was designed and gifted by Prince. When the tour was first book the label and tour manager did not think she'd be a big draw so booked yet for theatres and amphitheaters 1500-5k people and the ticket was so high they had to rebook to arenas making The Virgin Tour the first sold out arena tour by a female artist. They cut the talk about girls owning boxes and wanting to see her before Everybody and the performances of Borderline, Angel and Burning Up from the video because they thought she'd be over by the time the home video was released and she was performing for her hometown and it was her own grandma she called our. And she complained about being winded on this tour which caused her fitness obsession . The actress Debi Mazar(Entrouge, Goodfellas, Kaos) whom Madonna met and befrirnded did the make up for this tour and it was likely hairspray used to set the makeup, her brother Christopher was her dresser. Most of the band played with her til blond Ambition and some to the Girlie Show and Billie Jean and LAV have similar bass lines

I cannot wait for you to see what you have no idea you are about to see in the upcoming tours. Nobody wanted to be a bigger star than Madonna. Her confidence, work ethic, ambition and determination set her apart from everyone else. She bathes in attention, the stage is where she dreams to be and is most happy. When she says "that means you too Grandma" to get up on her feet, she was speaking to her actual Grandmother who was in attendance here and must have been so proud. That's her actual father chasing her off the stage at the end too. She trains so hard on her cardio so that she can give performances like these. During Blond Ambition, she would have hundreds of fans trying to run with her, but nobody could keep up with her and in fact she needed TWO trainers because neither one could run with here as long as she would go.
