Demi Lovato - Dancing With the Devil … The Art of Starting Over Album Listening Party

So in lover I am she says she's ok being alone but when she falls for someone she falls hard and gives them the passion of a one night stand every time. In easy she's saying she fell for someone but had to leave and hard it actually was for her but she needed to make it look easy because it was what was best for her.

iTunes has a breakdown where she explained each song.

You should definitely check out Calum's sister Mali Koa! All her songs are real/raw.

I can't wait for him to listen to those albums. Those voice cracks and "YYOOOWWW"s were everything.

Loved this reaction and this album so much!! I knew I had to hear it for the first time with you! I have cried so hard at the second and third episodes of the docuseries. Hits hard for sure. My brother also has bipolar that he’s really struggling to get under control and he can’t handle watching it either. No rush, sending love! And ps waiting on that ariana dangerous woman diaries lol!

I'm really hoping that you react to Demi's older albums in the future. Her older stuff was kinda pop punk. You'd enjoy it I think.

Also was diagnosed with bipolar myself last year. It's crazy to wrap your head around but keep your head up.

Relatively new patron of yours and I love the reacts! We seem to feel and relate to music similarly. Glad to see you getting into Demi! I fell in love with Demi from the moment her first album dropped way back in 2008 during her Camp Rock and Disney days. She always had something raw and vulnerable about her that just kept me coming back and so I followed her all the way until now, and even saw her live a while back, and it's been a hell of a trip. So it's always great to see someone recognizing what I saw all those years ago too. Sonically I think her albums have been a little all over the place cause you could see her trying to fit a mold in some places and it not always working. But one thing is consistent is that voice and her honesty and vulnerability, its always been there. Definitely worth the deep dive. Also Butterfly is kind of the end of a trilogy of songs about her father that went from For the Love of A Daughter to Father to now Butterfly and it's an absolutely beautiful tribute in retrospect of all she dealt with and endured with him as she explains in the doc. I'm rambling but yeah, love the video and love that your looking into diving into more from her.

I'm overjoyed that you reacted to this. Personally I feel like this album has no skips. Demi is a powerhouse vocalist for sure, and I think this is her best album. She's been through a lot of shit, but she's a fighter. Can't wait to see you dive into her past albums!

When Demi was first struggling her parents told her she wouldn’t be able to see her little sister. When she over dosed and was in the ICU her little sister was one of the first ones there and she looked at Demi and told her she loved her, and Demi’s response was (who are you) she literally couldn’t see her. It took a while for her to gain her vision back. It was the irony that her parents told her you can’t see Madison, and when she OD she literally couldn’t see her. 😕

FIRST OF ALL, I'm soooo glad you reacted to this! I'm so fulfilled! Just some things worth mentionion. 1. In her documentary she mentions she went blind for a while when she woke up from her coma... so in ICU when she says "i was blind but now I see clearly", it's a direct mention to that moment when she woke up and couldn't see Madison (her baby sister) who was right at her bedside. 2. Melon Cake is about how, with her old management, she was encouraged, or rather forced, to lose weight in order to be marketable, to a point in which people couldn't eat anything unhealthy around her (someone from her team actually got fired for giving her a chocolate bar) and the infamous birthday where she received as a cake an actual watermelon slice with fat-free whipped cream as icing cause she wasn't allowed to eat cake. 3. About 15 Minutes - it is about her former fiancée Max Ehrich, whom she was engaged for a little while last year, but soon she found out he was actually a social climber and sent flirty DMs to any female celebrity who would give him the time of day. There was some major "exposed" moment for him, it was found out that he even sent messages to Selena Gomez that he wanted to marry her even though they never met. Moreover, when she sings about praying and crying in Malibu is a direct shade to him going to Malibu beach (where he proposed to her) to cry and pray after their public falling out and people knowing he was kind of a piece of shit. There are pictures of this moment online and it is heavily believed that he called the paparazzi himself to get the "suffering boy" publicity.
