2021-02-16 17:29:33 +0000 UTChonestly you should see the get weird tour. the live performances are incredible, especially the one for lightning. i love this album from them. it was my first little mix album so it has a special place in my heart. i love pretty much every song but top five are Love Me or Leave Me, I Love You, Lightning, Secret Love Song Part 2, and Grown.

2021-02-16 12:54:15 +0000 UTCI have to correct you here with the whole rewriting the album that was to be Get Weird, It wasn't the label that told them it wasn't good enough It was the girls... There's an interview where Jesy and Jade are talking about it,and Jesy was crying to her mother telling her she wasn't happy with it and didn't like the songs at all and they took a chance with the label of asking them to rerecord it and write different songs and their label actually allowed them to. Which was odd because they wanted them tofollow the usual every year put a new album out so this put them back a year and another instance where they were put back another year was the year after Glory Days instead of releasing a new album they released the Platinum edition of Glory Days which don't get me wrong I was excited about because it had the live footage of their tour with Ariana in the US and it had new songs included on it which was a bonus and was just as good as getting a new album at the time and then came LM5 and we know what came after that 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ These girls have endured and revered so much in their career, the fact that they have not been able to break even the slightest crack in the US music scene is despicable and speaks volumes about the United States music scene. There is no reason at all in any universe that these girls shouldn't have been popular in the US... Not to throw shade, But screw it I'm going to.... Fifth Harmony managed to rule the US charts and honestly they did not have half the talent Little Mix has, And they're bond with nowhere near as tight as the Little Mix girls are!... I got to stop lol It gets me angry every time I think how they were not successful over here, It makes me want to scream from a mountaintop Are y'all deaf over here or what lol???

But I was sick with 101 fever so maybe it was better I didn't go haha still regret looms especially now that Jesy is gone ...(sigh)

I got to say that this album is in the middle for me If I had a rank Little Mix albums, which in my mind I pretty much do lol It would probably go like this: 6) DNA 5) Salute 4) LM5 3) Get Weird 2) Confetti 1) Glory Days This album holds a very special place in my heart, it truly was named correctly by the girls... as they said that this period was their glory days, and it resulted in them getting their first and only number one album in the UK, it had their most successful single ever to date (which incidentally was co-written by all four girls) "Shout Out To My Ex", It also gave them their first Brit award for best British single.

2021-02-16 09:15:11 +0000 UTCi’m so glad you picked up on the lgbt vibe of sls! it came out the year that i came out so it’s always been sooo important to me. absolutely one of my favorite of their songs. i’m so glad you did the deluxe edition because the acoustic tracks are some of my favs on this album! as a bunch of people are saying you should totallyyy watch lightening live it’s so fucking good. i actually love most of this album even though i DO hold a tiny bit of bitterness since they had to rewrite and miss their us tour that i had tickets for and then they never did a headlining tour here...the ticket has been posted on my wall for YEARS just to taunt me lollll. obviously i don’t blame them for this but still hhahaha. can’t wait to see you do salute & dna. watching these with you has made me sit down and focus on their music more than i’ve done in years, because usually i just have it playing in the background! thanks for putting so much love and joy into all your reacts

They originally wanted an LGBTQ storyline for the music video, but their label wouldn't allow it. Speaking of their shit label, this album always hits different for me because this was their second attempt at a third album. They had a completely different album finished right before they were about to do the US leg of their Salute tour, but the label said it wasn't good enough. They forced them to cancel the US tour and re-record an entire new album; this was the result. They wrote 100+ songs for Get Weird, and never released any tracks from the scrapped album. So while it sucks that it cost them the US leg, I just love this album so much because you can really feel how much work went into it. Lastly, can we talk about how much of a CRIME it is that we've never gotten I Love You OR Love Me Or Leave Me live????? Absolutely tragic.

I’d say it’s my third favorite with LM5 at 1 and Confetti at 2. My top 5 are Secret Love Song Part 2, I Love You, Lightning, Love Me or Leave Me, and Hair, because it’s just fun.

And damn I wish you had done The expanded version of the album "Hair" with Sean Paul is priceless!!!...It's actually one of very very few features and a Little Mix song that I like. And with the bleeping in Hair, Their audience primarily is teenage girls at that point when this album came out so they were more targeting it towards them also and of course to avoid that dreaded sticker and labeling🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️

Get Weird has always been one of my favorite albums from them, love the variety in it, and Lightning is to this day in my top 5 little mix songs.
