I like to watch stuff with other people too, but I can't really force my irls to rewatch this with me over and over again. So instead, when I don't want to watch it alone, I come on patreon and watch it with Steven. I've watched Steven's reaction 3 times now, and it really does feel like watching it with a friend. So yeah, Steven's watch party for "This Is Us" has become a comfort watch.

I was about 13 when they started and always knew they that thex existed but not once have I listened to them or watched a performance. I remember the movie coming out and thinking how stupid it is that they made this. I think it was because I always had quite different interests than other girls my age, so I just assumed I wouldn't like it.

But I stumbled upon Harry during the end of 2020, he reignited my love for music, I loved every second of it and thought I needed mooooooooore. So obviously I fell into the 1D rabbit hole and will never be the same haha. Thanks for this moment, it was awesome to share it with someone who's been through it the same way I have. Something I think you would enjoy is the 1D day they did for the release of Midnight Memories. It was a 7 hour livestream on YouTube and it shows a lot of their personalities. The Dutch king was just sworn in a few days before they did the show and our national colour is orange. So too many, it would seem random (especially how so many people got orange clothing so fast), but we have a Queen/King's day every year and everyone just wears orange and apparently 1D heard about it and yeah, it was awesome!!

2020-11-03 18:21:24 +0000 UTCAs a Zayn fan who recently got into 1d music through him, some of the moments in this movie are so hard to watch. It becomes so evident that towards the end of 2013-ish his anxiety really starts becoming worse and he becomes more and more reserved. You won't see him as quiet in 2011-12 interviews and stuff. By 2014 he barely ever spoke, and became extremely thin. The scenes where he was being asked to wake up, and when he was just napping in a corner while everyone was enjoying really show his state of mind at the time. To top that off, all his songs were rejected for the FOUR album and I guess that just pushed him deeper into that hole even though he never openly spoke about it. I absolutely loved the band, but I'm glad Zayn had the courage to prioritise his health and has emerged as a KING with some of the best western music I've ever heard as an Indian. So proud of him <3

There sadly wasn't any docu for their last tour, OTRA (Im assuming that zayn leaving may have had something to do with that but im not totally sure as they never said why) and after up all night I think your next series should be "1D Day" It was a 7 and 1/2 hour long livestream event they did for the release pf Midnight Memories!!! Its divided into hour segments and i believe they can all be found on Youtube!! really gives you even more insight into them as people and their individual friendships!!!

You hit on a great point early on about them being labeled as a pop band, so many didn't give them a chance just because of that label. It's a shame. A very young coworker asked if I wanted to go see this movie when it came out, and I said heck NO....why would I want to go see some movie about a bubble-gum boy band??!! I was SO wrong. I'm now a huge fan, not just of their music and beautiful harmonies, but I'm a fan of how humble and down-to-earth they are.

I remember actively not giving them a shot because I was older than their normal fans were and they were a “boy band” lol. I watched this movie and realized how cool they were as people and did a 180. I saw them in 2015 and it was such a cool show. I’m almost 30 but if they came back together today I’d be right there. Thanks for always being open to different types of music. I actually really liked the video where you looked back at an old Blink song, more of those would be cool. 👍 Thanks!

I wish I hadn’t so I could’ve watched with you for the first time. So today I decided to listen to a 2000’s emo/pop/punk playlist on Spotify. This was my primary genre back then and still is for the most part today. The entire time I kept thinking that there are so many 1D sings that could have been added that would have fit right in. No one would have believed it was 1D!. It really makes me sad that they were miss labeled. They had a huge fan base, obviously, but they could have had an even bigger and diverse base (more guys!) if the alternative stations played them back then.

Like others have said, I would suggest watching One Direction The TV Show and London Sessions. There are tons of footage of the boys all over YT though from fans at concerts, compilations the fans have made, etc. You'll never run out of content between the 1d years and the solo stuff.

But love 1D....and of course love you Steven for doing what you're doing, especially when you discovered 1D. I remember seeing them at the Superdome here in New Orleans in 2014 and it was (and still is) one of the BEST moments in my life...that was an unreal feeling to hear the roar of a One Direction sea of fans. 2020-08-27 11:12:13 +0000 UTCit was so fun to rewatch this with you!! seriously i completely understand about how getting to know their personalities makes you love them more. like i've been a casual fan since 2012. i knew their names and maybe a handful of their singles really, but they weren't my favorite. like at the time i wouldn't have called myself a fan, but i never wrote their music off either because i did actually like what songs of their's that i heard. just not enough to look at their other songs. then i took that dive into their music in november 2015 (i had only just found out that 5sos knew 1d, i became a fan of 5sos when they put out she looks so perfect in 2014, and i was so surprised that i looked up why and it was because 1d actually brought 5sos with them as their opener for most of the take me home tour and for part of the where we are tour) and that was it. i bought and listened to all their albums, bought and watched the up all night concert movie, this is us, and where we are (san siro). i went back and looking into their career from the beginning. i watched all the episodes from s7 of the x factor, watched 1d day, and watched countless compilations, of videos of them. interviews, press junkets, live tv performances. all of it. i fell in love with these boys and who they are as people rather than just what music they put out. im genuinely so so glad that i discovered your channel! your commentary is always so great and watching you grow to appreciate these boys as well just, it makes me happy. watching this video was like watching with a friend.

I love your reactions. I, like you, was late to the 1D mania. Just diving into them in the last couple of years. It was Harry who got me hooked first like you as well. You might enjoy Up All Night: The Live Tour and there have also been a couple of TV specials/documentary type things: One Direction: A Year in the Making, One Direction: Our Story So Far, One Direction: The TV Special (2014). I'm not sure whether they are easy to find or not, there was also 1D Day, a 7hr long interactive live stream, again I don't know if it is anywhere or not.

They never did anything as big as this movie and the san siro one, there is a up all night tour concert, and apple music one or something, and some tv specials here and there. Though they sadly never did a concert film for their last tour, on the road again tour (otra), when they toured FOUR, and they never toured made in the a.m. If you want to get to know them more like personality wise, it's always a kick watching them on otra messing around on stage, because they did that A LOT, or messing around in interviews or award shows. Because they are rowdy chaotic boys, so there is many compilations out there of them being, well, 1d, and i think many really love 1d for them actually being very funny and entertaining on stage, or in interviews (why 1d shows are like no other, harry styles being an entertainer, 1d during act my age, 1d being a mess at award shows, ect ect ect). Or else i'd suggest like watching all their music videos obviously, or some iconic performances. maybe you want to watch them on xfactor, you can always watch their torn performances on xfactor in 2010 and their live lounge torn cover in 2015, or all their auditions and their live performances. They also have some covers of like, fourfiveseconds, beautiful girls&stand by me live, i gotta feeling+stereo hearts+valerie live. For a laugh for yourself or reaction, them doing dodgeball and tattoo roulette with james corden is great! AND i know you love crowd moments, 1d crowds are crazy theres many compilations. or else i think a lot of it just comes with just watching everything you can they have so many iconic moments.

I remember when i started seeing your reactions getting reblogged on my tumblr dash a few months ago, and i just felt so happy for you that your channel was growing! For the release of MM, they did a 7 hour livestream with a bunch of different bits and performances called 1D Day. You can find it split into hour long segments and i think it would be so much fun to make it a like a bi weekly thing where you watch one segment at a time. It has my favorite performance of little things and it’s hilarious watching louis try to hide his ever growing murderous rage because his capricorn ass can’t handle all the technical difficulties that were happening.

There is a version on YouTube where fans have put together fan footage to recreate the entire concert, but the quality varies a lot since it's spliced together from cellphone and compact camera footage. It's cool, though.

I wouldn’t have survived quarantine as well as I have without getting as absorbed in 1D as I did. They got hosed on being mislabeled as just another pop boy band so early on.
