I haven't been an RT fan as long as others, but I really loved the people there and I tried many many times to be involved in the community because I had the fomo missing out on cool live events. But I couldn't hack it. The reddit, the discord, the website, were all insufferable to be part of and my thoughts and prayers go out to the community managers in all cases. In some ways, for RT fans the best thing that ever happened was the company going under. The mythical, Oz-like (imaginary) utopia of the RT studios is gone, but we get just as much if not more content, and communities that aren't painful to be in. Plus the creators are happier. Just have to hope the BTS folks get to move on to better times as well.
