Good catch! I copied and pasted the title and should have removed. I updated the title, but we never include Wife/Husband's first time watch on Patreon, only YT :)

But why is it still called "First Time Watching" then and not the "Wife's First Time Watching"? :)

Naturally, everyone is talking about the other Mummy movies. I get it, but another related recommendation that more people should see is Deep Rising (1998), the movie that director Stephen Sommers made before The Mummy. It's another very entertaining blend of suspense, horror, action, with a bit of comedy, and it's another of several Sommers films featuring Kevin J. O'Connor (Beni) in a key supporting role. Deep Rising is more explicitly horror, which you watch all year, but at the very least keep it in mind for spooky season 2026.

I get the impression that a big impetus behind the new one they're making is to apologize for the third one.

Daniel as Rick
Samantha as Evelyn or Anck-Su-Namun 🤣

So if Sam ever takes up CosPlay ... I think we know what her first outfit should be :)

This movie is extremely entertaining...but stupid. I'm not shitting on the flick--I enjoy the hell out of it. Brendan Frasier makes a great action lead, and he and Rachel Weisz (Rrrrrooooowwrrr) have spectacular chemistry. Also, John Hannah is awesome. But it's a silly, stupid movie. It kind of spoon feeds everything to you, and most of its acts and moments are really predictable. Even so, it always felt like a good successor for the Indiana Jones series...that is, until they actually made some Mummy sequels (*barf*)...I'm probably outnumbered here, but that's okay. Good shit. Gonna watch the end of season 4 Game of Thrones over on Popcorn in Bed, and then I'm going to stop over here.

One of the most fun, entertaining, rewatchable films ever. Adventure, action, comedy, horror, mystery, mythology, romance. It just has so much!
Like I said, I prefer this over Raiders. Maybe because I saw this first as a kid.
The sequel is very good too but it has maybe the worst piece of CGI you’ll ever see! Be ready for that.
There is a third movie, but it’s pretty bad. Rachel Weisz didn’t come back for it either.

"Think of my children!"
"You don't have any children."
"Some day I might."
Listen, Benny was a sniveling little coward, but that's what made his character so damn funny. The writing of this movie is just about perfect.

I love this movie. It may be an unpopular opinion, but I like the second one better.

I did raise an eyebrow that Dan clocked the Casablanca conversation in WHMS immediately but Sam had no reaction.

Definitely not opposed to reactions to very significant movies one or both of you remember nothing about, somewhat selfishly hoping neither of you remember anything about Casablanca lol 😂
