Pluribus Season 1 Episode 7 'The Gap' Full TV Reaction!!

Pluribus Season 1 Episode 7 'The Gap' Full TV Reaction!!

Comments

When I first watched this episode, I was already curious about 'The Gap'.. and I had wondered how long it would take to drive from Paraguay to New Mexico.. I paused and looked it up and saw the details of having to cross Darién Gap.. omg. It made this episode much more enjoyable. They did a great job showing that journey in this episode, even though it was long and slow

Would the hive mess with Manusos body while unconscious? They are vague with their permission or not wanting to hurt. Manusos saying he wants to save the world almost made me tear up.

We haven't seriously minded the pace at all! Of course we're impatient but only because we love the show so much! He did get a keyboard, so I think that would be so fun to do with our daughter! -Sam

The irony of Manousos stopped on his journey to refer to his map, while in the foreground is a large rock with petroglyphs carved onto the face by a culture that no longer exists.

I rebuilt an MG Midget from parts when I was a teenager. Ask me anything.

The song playing during Manousos' driving scene is "Esperanza" by Hermanos Gutierrez. I remember the first time I watched this episode. I was really impressed. During that driving scene, which was a great mix of beautiful images, perfect song choice, and with Manousos repeating the line, "The world is big", while a view of the horizon showed on screen, really put the beauty of everything into perspective, and during that realization, I just had to say out loud that, "This show is amazing!" This episode instantly became my favorite. It was the best since episode one. It really surprised me when I later saw comments online of people talking about how boring this episode was, and how nothing interesting had happened. That was so strange. Like most people, I was looking forward to the meeting of Carol and Manousos. The future of the planet was riding on that journey from South America. There was hope in his mission, as well as dread in it's failure. And it was failure that we got. Both of our main characters suffered a huge defeat; one physically and the other emotionally. Two people who were so confident in their ability to do everything themselves, found out the hard way that they couldn't. The future of humanity just got put on hold. If that's not good television/storytelling, then I don't know what is.

“The girl saves the mouse from the trap” is a great line. I don’t know if you guys have finished the season yet, or if you picked up on the meaning behind it, so I won’t say anything else.

Here’s the song that’s playing during Manousos’s driving montage: https://youtu.be/DrIQLiB3HPI?si=YM9BmKQKz0uvxzc_

Weirdly, this is my favorite episode of the season.

Interested to hear what you think about the pacing of the overall show- I think it's fine, but the slower pace has been the criticism of some people thus far. Also, let Daniel know that it's not too late to learn piano!
