I see the Fae alliteration creeping into Rozeta's speech there, nicely done. Thanks for the chapter, have a very happy Christmas.

They're not gonna wait a week, right? Come on Erick, bitchslap Nothy into Nothingness.

At the end of the day if Erick's offered a trade where he can ensure his survival but it makes saving Veird and the whole Painted Cosmology even a little more difficult he'll never take that trade. If the decision were all upside by giving him more power, ensuring his survival, and allowing him to do more good (not Good) then Lionshard would've absolutely become a Fae by now. And while becoming Benevolence may not limit him *much* in the grand scheme of things, it'll absolutely constrain his actions when fighting Malevolence (its opposite). Erick already turned down the possibility of greater power and support by not turning Good after Nothanganathor turned Evil because it would constrain him.

His solution is an elegant one however, establishing himself in Benevolence Itself. It's been brought up a few times recently, including his talk with Solomon this chapter. He would avoid most problems Fae have with identity and flexibility because he already *is* basically Benevolence. This would just be the next step in accepting Benevolence. So flexibility isn't a concern. He even talks about how he'd prefer to make Benevolence prognosticating less perfect and this would solve that. That's what the entire Solomon convo was about.

I'm very much looking forward to Oozy's face getting punched in once and for all. Still somewhat undecided on my feelings towards Everbless and if I want him to be rescued/redeemed somehow. Regardless, excellent chapter Arcs and I'm excited (and nervous) to see what happens next after your well deserved break!

Matt H

I assume you're talking about becoming a Fae? I think Erick understands, if not knowing exactly why, that that would be a mistake at this point. My understanding is that'll essentially fix his nature and I think some degree of flexibility/unpredictability is going to be needed to win the War.

Matt H

I fully understand that we're keeping Erick tremendously flawed for the sake of keeping his character interesting. He needs Grand Wizardry tiers of therapy to get over all his shit. I also understand that the end of this is destined to be fully in the MC's favor and that this story isn't going to be one of those doom endings. That all being said, it's super annoying that he refuses to become a True Immortal before the *war for all of everything*. Sure it'll probably happen in a satisfyingly dramatic way in a very intentionally placed time. It still seems kinda lame that we'd intentionally decide to be 'weak' in the face of the future of everyone's lives. One would think Erick would put aside his pathetic (relative to the Infinite Universe) mental problems for the sake of his entire world and a potential infinite amount of universes in the future should he fail.

Let's go, Ragnarök baybeee Reading a bit about the myth and seeing the parallels have me fascinated to find out how it will all end. Thanks for the chapter, and enjoy the holidays Arcs

Holy cow, "The Big Day" feels like really underselling it. That was probably the biggest day since the Sundering?

Big things on the move

Well then that’s a big chapter with big events. I’m hoping that the character we know and love will be able to stay safe and kickass I am intrigued by the conversation Erick and Rozeta had. I’m looking forward to seeing veird post conflict. Thanks for todays chapter.

Probably says something that I've been waiting for this update more than the upcoming holiday lol
