There’s a great book on the R2800 that provides some details and photos of the -30W, -32W, and -34W. The book is “R2800: Pratt and Whitney’s Dependable Masterpiece” by Graham White, ISBN 0-7680-0272-9. The book is well worth owning for anyone interested in the details of how WWII technology was developed.
2022-01-23 12:46:15 +0000 UTCSleeve valve, sleeve valve, sleeve valve, drool, drool, drool🤤. Do not put your self out but if there is an easy way to add an audio for the sleeve valve? Hootchie mama!

2022-01-20 00:40:06 +0000 UTCSince you mention sleeve valve engines, I work for the company that now owns Bristol Engines. A unit on site contains a dozen or so, and probably some cutaway examples. If there's any stuff in particular you want, drop me a message on Patreon. Also, the RR Heritage Trust has a number of excellent and well referenced books on many subjects including engines. Crecy, Merlin 130 series, and lots on sleeve valve engines. They have an eBay shop of the same name. For example, their listing for the book of Roy Fedden is eBay item number 252665584072. If they won't ship abroad and you want anything, let me know.

2022-01-20 00:39:17 +0000 UTCI love the old magazine snippets, so much interesting history in them. A real window into a different world. Case in point, the spread at 33:00. Apart from the fact I work next to airfield shown bottom left, for the company that owns the manufacturer of the aircraft and engines shown, the article is full of amazing details. Like the 400mph Mustang with wing tip radiators, mention of another that previously belonged to Jimmy Stewart, a mention of corsairs with wright major 4360 engines, a mention of Charles Tucker the flying wing test pilot and subject of a future video I hope! All on one spread!

2022-01-20 00:31:14 +0000 UTCNow there's an idea, a video about 'Top Ten WORST Cockpits of WW2!" YouTube loves a good top ten video. You'll get a zillion views.

2022-01-19 23:36:58 +0000 UTCThis video finally (and belatedly) pushed me over the edge and made me a patron. Thank you Greg for creating excellent content. If I may have a suggestion for the near future, a series of videos on superprops (possibly including late-war German prototypes or low-volume production planes, if any solid documentation can be found) seems like a fun idea. I'd love to hear your take on late Corsairs.

2022-01-19 21:15:06 +0000 UTCsince you mention it... I'd love to see a video about the sleeve valve engines. I've looked around with very little luck in the past.
