Monthly Blog #3 - May 2019 (No charge this month)

Hey everyone!

I only released two main videos in May (Wanted and Cars 3) so I've suspended the pledges that would normally go through on June 1st. When making the Patreon I promised myself that a certain standard would be upheld for each month, and with some personal stuff and technical issues I ran into I don't feel like I've met that standard so I'd feel guilty taking the money.

Regardless, I got a lot of behind the scenes stuff done! Sims GBA is well underway and the Captain America: Super Soldier script just needs some tweaks so that's exciting! I've also been playing a few other games I'm planning to cover, no spoilers ;)

I managed to get in touch with a lead developer on a popular J2ME game and he answered some questions regarding it's development and technical achievements which is amazing. It feels like I'm doing some actual legitimate games journalism which is new ground for me. I'm definitely going to try to do more stuff like this going forwards, and I feel like knowing some dev history behind the oddities I cover could be really interesting and add something well beyond just my research and opinions.

If you missed any of the Patreon exclusive content from the last month, I answered some of your questions in a video Q&A, relived my Hotline Miami, FEAR 2, PoP08 and Screamer 2 reviews and there's a early access God of War Betrayal full length commentated playthrough that any Patron can view. Fun stuff!

I'm going to be away from home for about half of June, so I'm planning on buffering videos that were meant to come out in May ahead of time to release while I'm away. If all goes smoothly my release schedule should return to business as usual, but being so busy it's a bit up in the air. As with this month, if it doesn't work out, it'll be another no-charge. But I think we'll be okay and I'm pretty excited about some of the vids coming.
