Wow I'd made the connection between Billy and the funeral scene, but I don't think I'd connected the dots with the policeman. Crazy that I'm still finding new tidbits about this game to this day - I haven't actually replayed it since my review so it's overdue for another playthrough haha

Aww, so nice of you to mark my question as your favourite :3 Thanks a lot for the answers! And you got my last name right with the first try :) It's a German surname AFAIK (but I'm from Russia myself) and it's a bit awkward to pronounce for my countrymen as well. Also I'd like to note one thing about the mission you are talking about in your first answer (of course I recognized it right away :) it's The Whore and The Priest, mission #8 that has two titles) - the person being buried at the funeral Tommy stumbles upon was actually killed not by Tommy but by Paulie (though Tommy took a big part in it, of course, and was an accomplice), and it's the guy that was killed in previous mission "Better get used to it" in the final cutscene in the car. The other guy in this car sitting on the passenger seat didn't get the final shot as Paulie ran out of bullets and was also present at the funeral. He was giving his speech as the priest discovers Tommy hiding and screams "that's the one, that's the bastard who killed Billy" because he recognizes him. Also the politician that you have to kill in the mission "Happy Birthday" on the boat is the father of Billy, and it is even mentioned somewhere in the cutscenes that this politician began his war with crime exactly because of his son's death, which in turn led him to be assassinated by Tommy. I've never noticed all these details when I played Mafia as a kid, and I got the whole picture only several years later during one of my many replays of the game, which convinced me even more that this game is just a piece of art. P.S. I didn't actually intend this comment to be that big, but well, we have what we have :)
