Burnout, anxiety, and reconnection

You know, I've made hundreds of videos for YouTube and Patreon over the years. I'm not really shy about being in front of the camera, never have been.

This video on the other hand, makes me feel rather exposed. I don't think it's because of the content itself, rather that it's me really trying to tell a story. Admittedly it's just telling a story on YouTube and the barrier of entry there is not particularly high, but I am giving it a shot.

My sincere hope for this story is that it can be a reminder of what so many creatives have in common. And that great art is not usually made when all the distractions go away. Instead, those distractions and the art making are quite closely tied together. In fact, the more we see this connection the more meaning we are able to put into and derive from our work.

Merci quel très beau témoignage!

It’s interesting that you mention Spring, I can understand your journey and just recently you giggled while drawing in your demos and that was so nice to hear. I wouldn’t describe my experience as demons but I have taken a stand in order to protect others and been met with hostility, which has been painful. These knocks take time when one becomes overloaded with tension and treading on unknown ground. Painters and gardeners and interior decorators made me want to live again so to speak, talented people who have clung to their creative spark no matter what. Spring renews the spirit in so many ways. It’s important to be true to yourself and very lovely to hear you and see you opening your heart anticipating summertime. You’re highly valued here whatever you do or say.
