It doesn't get more sophisticated than the fundamentals.
We will be paying close attention to the direction of the light source and the resulting patterns of shadow, using lines of varying thickness and density to create a sense of volume and impression.
So, join me this Saturday and get one step closer to 100 heads (and being a better portrait artist).

I'm afraid that I can't say with any confidence what could be going on. I don't know if it's an option but potentially watching it on a desktop computer would be better?

2025-03-14 16:05:08 +0000 UTCHi Kimberly, on the 15th there is a live stream lesson that will be followed up by a zoom call in which we will do a group critique. It's great to go through the archive of lessons one by one and work along with them. However, I definitely wouldn't miss out on working along with the current lessons as they go live. That way you'll get to take part in the group critique which is a really big part of the value here. 👍

Since I am just starting should I attempt the current project or just watch and listen? I started working on the Diana portrait today and not sure if I should just jump right in or do them in succession. Thanks! Kim
