How To Stretch Your Oil Paper

Hello Everyone! A couple of quick things:

1. Next Bootcamp lesson is coming up on the 22nd. We are getting into the structural style of block in. The last 2 lessons are still available to work along with. If you want to get in on the action, go here.

2. Coming up next month is the FULL ON cast painting lesson. You are going to take your paintings 90% of the way to the finish line, then... glazing and scumbling lesson.

The paper I am stretching in this video is Stonehenge Oil Paper from Legion Paper. I use it mainly from my alla prima paintings and also for colored pencil drawing. This same process can be used for all sorts of paper.

Pretty soon there will be a lesson on alla prima painting using this paper and preparation.

You can find links to all the materials I used in this video here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/frequently-asked-37008290

Hello, I just wanted to know, do you know canson papers? if so, is any of them similar to stonehenge? in my country stonehenge is not accessible

Both sides are good to paint on.

Any idea if you can paint on both sides of this Stonehenge oil paper? It's easy to forget which side is up once you've cut the paper. I use an x on one side but I forgot to mark this on some sheets.

Monique Bourgeois

That would also work.

I believe I have heard you mention using PVA glue on paper as a ground to oil paint on. Is it possible to use PVA glue on a birch board to paint on in place of gesso, or does the PVA glue not adhere like the gesso?
