Drawing Essentials, Part 3

Hooray! My drawing essentials series is complete and now all 3 parts are available in their streamlined format.

In this video we are working on a cast drawing and cast drawing concepts.

Attached to this post are the lesson notes- they contain everything that you need to know about this lesson!

Also, here is a link to the 3D movable model of this cast (make sure to left/ctrl-click and open link in a new tab) :

Comments

Love to watch you draw. Excellent class, thank you.

Linda L Capizano

Starting with drawing essentials is a good place. However- did you watch parts 1 & 2 first? That would be the best way to proceed. the drawing exersize here is a pretty complex one, if you are at a more beginner level maybe starting with the sphere lesson at the beginning of the Atelier Tier would be good.

Im completely new to this site, your site roadmap said to start here. Is this lecture designed to be drawn along with? My plan (as per the site map) was to work though this, then move onto the centreline workshop, then onto the Psych of Napoli (which would be my first exercise). Is that correct? Thanks for all the help!

I will look into this asap.

random question but did you scratched out 2 lines on your lead holder to differentiate between the two ?

michael joshua

All good, Jeff. Thanks for the comment, I'll keep it in mind for future lessons ;)

A bit of feedback. Fabulous episode, I learnt a shed load. Please don't cut the sound for the parts where you are just drawing. I would prefer to hear the work and your odd comment here and there about what you are doing. I don't mind if you are not talking all the time, just drawing along but with the odd thought that's going on in your mind for example "hmmm, that looks off, I need to add more graphite here". I hope you understand what I am meaning. I dont like being negative because it was such a good episode. Thanks Stephen. Jeff.
