Question and a Shelf

I wanted to show off my printed book on my classroom shelf. Being a teacher is rough, and so is being an author. If I'm not stressing about kids failing or angry parents, I'm worrying about Symphonys lack of ratings or what you guys will think of the next chapter. Lots going on. But seeing my book hit that shelf brings more than a little satisfaction to my efforts.

As for the question as stated in the title. Brian J. Norden is a popular gamelit author and he publishes his chapters here as pdfs. It's easier on the author since they're downloads, and it's better formattingwise as it will allow me to do a few unique things.

So the question is this. Would you prefer the downloadable chapters, or for me to continue posting as I have?

Let me know! Two chapters tomorrow, one of them being my favorite in the series so far.

They're my "deadman" books. I'm intentionally not reading them unless I'm on my deathbed and need something to do. That's the nice part of reading standalones. Noted on your notes.

Ooo, what’s your favourite of Sanderson’s secret projects? Mine is probably the Sunlit Man. For chapter formats prefer as is or google docs as reading chapter on mobile for pdf is a real pain.

Noted and thank you for your thoughts*

I’m in a slightly different camp from Thomas V. I do most of my reading these days on a mobile device, and dark mode is by far the best mode for reading on mobile, my kindle library is in the 13.2k+ range, I also follow Brian J. Norden’s “Quest Academy” story on Patreon, yes his method of batch releasing PDF’s is convenient for the author, but reading PDF’s on a mobile device, although convenient, is not as easy on the eyes due to lack of “dark mode”. One major concern for me is “consistency of format” ie. If you start publishing chapters one way, don’t change it in the middle to something else, incompatible with the method your readers were previously using. Ie. If you decide to convert over to PDF chapter releases, re-release all previously released chapters as a PDF, so that your readers can have a consistent reading experience. My 2 cents. You do whatever you feel most comfortable with. Am anxiously awaiting the next batch of chapters for QuestWright.
