Primordial Poet: Haikus and Heroics Blurb and Prologue

Heyo,

We're entering summer, so you know that means my schedule gets all wacky. Below you'll find both the blurb, the link to the story on RR (not that you need it since you're here), and the prologue. Both the blurb and prologue are subject to change as I continue writing the story.

I'm about halfway done editing Book 3, which is by far the longest in the Symphony series. The moment it's done, we're off to TBatS land!

Blurb:

Alexander "Lex" Lewis didn't ask for a second chance.

Adrift in the wreckage of a post-apocalyptic Earth, he received an offer: Travel to Symphony, a world of exploration and wonder.

But the voice didn't tell him he'd be forced to take on a profession that had no combat capability, nor that the moment he arrived, he'd be attacked and placed close to death.

To survive, Lex is forced to accept a mission—one that no sane person would ever take, and is almost certainly going to kill him.

Now, he must gather allies, scavenge power wherever he can, and navigate a landscape of deadly territories and egomaniacal titans.

Because in Symphony, stories hold power.

And Lex is about to write his own in blood and verse.

What to expect:

Exploration of new Territories, Powers, and Skills.

A world of wonder as well as great violence.

Realistic characters with morally gray choices.

At least six books in the series.

This series is a continuation of my Symphony series. Some characters will cross over, others will not.

Standard posting schedule is Mondays and Fridays at 1 P.M. C.S.T.

Most chapters sit at around 2.5k. Some will be shorter, while others will be much, much longer.

Prologue: Chapter 0: Thresholds

Entries and Exits.

Nothing in the Omniverse holds more power and meaning than the moment before a line is crossed. A lifted foot that lands with conviction, while in another place, it never lands at all. A sudden, taken breath. Hands clasping in strength, in fear, in love. Thresholds to be navigated.

Symphony is a world of thresholds.

One built by a flawed man in a corrupted protocol.

But doors were meant to be opened, and the Creator of Symphony had vows to keep.

And so it was that after a thousand years of history burrowed the Creator’s world into cultural stability and expected transformations, centered roles and rising territories, heroes, villains, and monsters dashing blood and tears upon what was once meant to be a harmonious place…that the portals opened…that the Omniverse arrived.

From the blue entries came Haveners, people who escaped a world that imprisoned them in a lightless undercity of death, despair, and destitution.

From further portals came the surviving Earthers. A people whose sense of superiority had been smashed upon the rocks of an uncaring universe.

And from still further doors to Symphony, come the rejects of a multiverse that no longer exists. Beastlike men and women, dragons of lore and legend, old grudges and promises of fidelity.

Their every action, recorded, their every movement, tracked, for the Omniverse has also come. Bringing with it vast changes to an ever-expanding world that was never built for safety.

The Creator of Symphony had designed systems for his people. A way to help them reach unending heights in their pursuit of power. Systems to help the old mentor the young. Systems that allow for the development of skills, professions, and masteries. Systems to show clear, marked progression for any path one might choose to take.

Systems that, with great sacrifice, now speak in many voices. They exalt with victories. They weep with loss. They remember.

And through it all, the doors remain open, though not all who cross survive.

Now, a new step has been taken. Out of a portal from Earth, a young man named Alexander “Lex” Lewis is crossing the threshold. He enters not as a conqueror or savior, hero or villain, but as a man with hope for a new beginning in a world he had never expected to travel.

A world of entries and exits.

And in Symphony, the truth always opens from within.
