Author's Update: June 2024

Howdy folks.

So, good and bad news, as life tends to pass down to us. Lets start out with the bad news, as I'd rather end on an uplift.

In a weeks time, I'll be taking a week off from writing. My brain no do good now. End of the school year is nuts. I've been calling parents, getting yelled at, grading papers, dealing with crying students...yada yada yada. It takes a lot out of everyone. Normally, I just get drunk for a day and I'm fine, but this year it set a little deeper. I'm still planning on publishing two chapters this weekend, and two next weekend, then it'll be one dry week. Once that week is over, we'll be moving toward a different schedule, and thus we move on to the good news.

Good news #1:

Starting June 17th, right after that weekend, my writing is going into hyperdrive. Most of you weren't with me when I first started, minus Mekanip, but I used to publish 4-5 chapters per week. As school ends, and my mental faculties begin to return, my energy should bounce back accordingly. If I have issues, I'll be open and honest with everyone as I've always been. However, I don't foresee any issues and we should be good to go. It also means that our current schedule of Sat and Sun postings will disappear. I'm likely to take weekends off, minus some extra things I have working in the background, and focus on writing everyday mon-fri. I won't always get out a large group of chapters as things are much more complicated now than they were, but I'll do my best. I expect at least three chapters a week, and I'm going to try to push for four if possible. There will be no up-charges, no changes in prices. Just a shitload of chapters.

But AVA, does that mean you'll be posting on RR more?

No

They get it for free, so they don't get a vote. I'd like Creation to go for as long as it can on RR, which means it's likely that the RoyalRoad run will last until September or possibly even December. I'm unsure. But you guys will probably have the complete series by the end of summer, as promised. I will say that that 4th book will be quite fast compared to what you've grown used to, and there are a LOT of stuff I've setup for the end. Like, a crazy amount. Many of you don't know this, but my ending has always been the goal, and I've planned it meticulously since page 1 of the series.

Good news #2:

I was contacted by PodiumAudio to potentially start a contract with them. I don't know where it's going, or even what I'm doing, but I'm going to do my best to be honest and forthright with them, as I am in all of my work and dealings. They're a very very large Audiobook company who also, now, publishes. You may know them as the company that brought Andy Weir's The Martian to Audiobook, as well as The Land series, He Who Fights with Monsters, and Beware of Chicken. I'm extremely excited for this, for one solid reason.

My writing style is weird. I was trained as a Radio and Television Broadcaster for my second degree, and thus have a tendency to write for the ear, more than the eye. That means my book will translate exceptionally well to an Audiobook or even Anime format, if that's where this goes. So, this is the best possible thing that could happen for the Symphony series. It's a big deal, and I'm very hyped for it.

That's all for now. Keep an eye out for the author's notes at the top of each chapter as I do a countdown before my week-long break. Thank you all for following me, and I hope you're enjoying the series.

For a sneak peak, the next title is simply: A Broken Universe
