Added 2025-09-07 09:37:28 +0000 UTCAs over-used as the trope could get, I do really miss the days when characters could and did turn into blobby, big-headed versions of themselves at a moment's notice. Not, like, in some bonus content or spin off or something, but right there in the actual anime. I'm sure it's still out there, but I feel like I don't see it anywhere near as much as in shows from Back In The Day™. As you may have noticed, my own art style has been slightly influenced by this trend.
