Playing in Solidworks
Added 2021-01-03 07:42:19 +0000 UTCAs I wait for the last of the Voron 0 parts to print I’ve been brushing up on CAD because sooner than later I will finish a printer design.
I have a custom printer that’s been waiting to be upgraded so I decided I would sit down and practice the little I know in Solidworks and make a new electronics case. I hope to finish rough designing a new part each day for the rebuild and in time print test parts for fit and then do a full reprint.
This is not my normal day to day so it’s slow going as I think I spent 6-8 hours on this case alone and have 3 major parts that need designing including an extruder, a new X axis, and a new Y axis.
Everything else looks very easy to rework so I hope to be be done before the end of next week. After that I should have all the parts for a MK3s rebuild so I’ll be back to making profiles for exoctic filaments for the stock Prusa system as well as a Voron 0 build and a rebuild of the Taz 6 Joel Telling sent me.
