New SKR firmwares launches!
Added 2020-06-11 18:45:41 +0000 UTCSKR Bear project has all new refined firmwares with tons of fixes and new ABL (regular 7x7 mesh) firmwares which is now the default option. A total of 22 variants with more coming.
Thanks to beta testers we’ve debugged nearly every main issue and have everything running as smooth as can be. For the most part it’s no different than swapping boards and feeling at home. Now with Printed Solid carrying the LDO extension plugs so you don’t have to cut and crimp all new connectors on most things so it’s becoming easier to move a printer over to the SKR V1.4 platform.
There are still a few bugs. Marlin is fixing UBL bugs which is why we’ve moved to regular ABL and a couple minor ABL bugs in the next release along with tons of new features including MMU2s support! Yes it’ll use the sensor in the extruder making it a viable tool. New safety timers and expanded material preheats are also coming and the list of features just grows.
If you’re running and SKR printer I highly recommend going through the new firmware as I patched every variant with thermal fixes, probing patches, and more that will make the experience better. Couldn’t have done it without the beta testers finding bugs and reporting them like crazy. If anyone has questions let me know and hopefully this helps anyone trying to make the transition.
