Hoo boy. This is a big'un so I'm putting it in the $15 tier for Early Access. I've been working on this update since before Businesses and Hobbies and just kept finding things to add, fix, and update (and I somehow I haven't actually gotten to adding Business Activities to this update!) The Patch notes will not be an exhaustive list, as I've made so many changes since the last update that I'm not going to remember them all.
First and Foremost, I've made numerous changes across all my mods to try and reduce simulation lag caused by them. Notably I've gone under the hood on Mod Constructor and changed the template for recurring loot actions (such as checking for an update Archechetypal traits) to occur once every 30 sim minutes as opposed to the previous 10 sim minutes. In Gay Archetypes specifically, I've also made it so that only currently Played sims update every 30 (sim) minutes, as opposed to all male sims on the lot. NPC's only update upon being loaded in. I've also looked at broadcasters to reduce the amount that rely on an immediate ping (like a sim reacting to another smelly sim immediately as soon as they enter the broadcast radius) to updating, again every 30 sim minutes. The main downside is that certain circumstantial buffs will linger a bit longer.
There's been some updates to how buffs (moodlets) work in the game in the last couple patches, notably they can be removed even if their tied to commodities (hidden motives that determine a sims autonomy, and used in this mod for tracking traits like "Masculine" and "Feminine;" or "Dominant" And "Submissive") OR tied to interactions like my various "____ Activity" buffs. Previously, those kinds of buffs stuck around even after using things like the Emotional Stability potion from Realm of Magic- not any more, so be careful with those kinds of effects. They've also all been given timers in circumstances when they previously wouldn't have them so I've had to go in and manually turn off the countdowns on buffs that shouldn't have them.
The "Closeted" trait is now a Fear for the sake of flavor and now gets a few of those special fear solving wants. Ironically, I've also updated the "Gave Into The Urges" buff to have the Anger emotion instead of Fear, so that Closeted Sims react more realisticlaly. To really sell it, the buff also suppresses certain other emotions, particularly "Flirty." With Muscle Worship installed, if the Closeted sim is also a Muscle Gainer, their anger can ramp pretty heavily due to filling up their Workout Motivation and giving the "Desperate for a Workout" moodlet. I'm not gonna lie, I've had a couple test sims die not long after if they didn't get a workout or some other manly activity in fast enough to get rid of those anger moodlets. I thought about nerfing this anger effect but now that we can choose to continue on as ghosts when a sim dies, I really like the flavor of closeted sims suppressing their true feelings so hard they die of a heart attack. However if you're worried about your sims dying too often, I highly recommend using MCCC to turn off emotional deaths.
Added a bunch of wants to traits across the board to add flavor and gameplay. (Always open to suggestions on this.)
There's several hidden traits that keep track of factors such as age fitness, fat, and body hair, which are used for testing against to apply actual visible archetype traits. Previously those traits applied multipliers to the gender expression and kink position commodities. This meant that with certain combinations of traits, sims were pretty much locked in to one gender expression (or kink position) or another, and no number of interactions could meaningfully change that. I've removed those types of multipliers from all hidden traits so that you can at least guess why your sim is so feminine or masc, and have more freedom to influence those features with what you have your sims do.
Sims' gender expressions is now more directly influenced by their friends (and enemies). Previously this influence was only a multiplier. Now hanging out with a masculine friend a sim will gradually grow more masculine, and vise versa for feminine friends. They move towards the opposite gender expression from sims they dislike.
It breaks my IRL Vers heart to do this, but the mod now more aggressively categorises Unplayed Sims as Top or Bottom instead of just Vers. This is because there's currently no way to test which role a sim is taking during actual sex, so I've had to rely on these traits to serve as that test for various sex related (such as determining if a big dicked sim is topping.) Incidentally, bottoming now has a masculinising effect, while topping has a feminising effect.
Reworked Kinky Autonomy so that Sims reaching their dom or sub limits now acts as a cool down to moving further in that direction, rather than pushing them in the opposite direction.
Added Big and Little Dick Archetypes! This is directly tied to Wicked Whims Penis Size settings, and thus requires them to be turned on in order to function. The traits are determined by Penis Length specifically. In addition to things like size related social reactions and moodlets, my favorite aspect of my take on Big Dick trait is it applies an actual bulge when your sim is aroused, or wearing particularly revealing bottom parts. This feature requires this bulge cc by theuso. An important thing to note about penis size is that changing your assigned body parts resets the size. In order to maintian the size and not lose the trait, the traits remain unless they are set to the opposite size, and will refresh penis size to match the trait in order to maintain consistency. Basically once you have one trait or the other, your stuck with it, so be careful about assigning. Also due to my afforementioned simulation lag fixes, the buff that applies the bulge sometimes lingers when a sim is naked, particularly when getting naked through wicked whims. It does eventually go away, but I find changing the Wicked Whims naked outfit from "Special" to "Bathing" in Wicked Whims settings causes it to happen less often, though as Turbo notes when making that change, it does come with it's own issues.
Speaking of pesky Appearance Modifier buffs, I've gone in and reworked all of the clothing modifying buffs for things like the Leather and Sports Bars to generate much more consistent, realistic outfits, by hand selecting the CAS Parts they apply. Leather Bars now actually feel like leather bars and less like a pirate ship. Also if you have this Pup Mask CC installed, sims with the Pup trait (currently earned by Werewolves or sims with with the Likes Dogs trait) will were it in place of a leather cap at a leather bar.
Added a Leather Bar specific Drink menu that gives discounts if your sim is wearing (you guessed it) Leather! Specifically two pieces between Boots, Lower Body, and Upper Body (Full Body counts as 2), enough to proc the "All Gear'd Up" Buff which works now.
Sims can now buy Cigars from the bartender at a Leather Bar, with a special discount for first time Smokers.
Added a "Discrete" Lot Trait. It's compatible with any lot, and it allows all male sims to engage in same sex romantic interactions regardless of sexuality. I made it in lieu of being able to add sexuality filter to Target Customers on a home/small business lot (because that unfortunately is not possible without overridding the entire business filter turning) but I've founded there's plenty of potential use cases for it. Be careful with your closeted sims, however as leaving a discrete location will cause them get paranoid about being found out. One thing to note is that Wicked Whims is sometimes slow on the uptick of updating sexualities. If a sim is rejects sex due to the "situation" they're in, it's actually because WW is confused on whether the target likes men or not. Romance them a few times and you should be good to go.
Similarly, having a rainbow object (specifically that base game rainbow flag that got added in that pride sdx drop) in the same room allows for Closeted sims to be more open to romanced by male sims, but again, leaving the area may cause them to clam up. Be careful about leaving the flags area when asking for sex.
Okay I think that's everything??? Again their may be more new stuff but I've legit been working on this daily since the last update (IN JANUARY????) in addition to the other mods so there's probably more that I've forgot to mention. also COMING SOON: Gay Archetypes Original Townies.
