Gay Archetypes 2.3
Added 2024-11-30 19:51:26 +0000 UTCNew Archetypes: Cowboy and Goth!
Cowboy assigned to Horse Lovers and Ranchers
Goth assigned to Macabre and Gloomy Sims
Cowboy, Goth, Nerd, and Jock are now available for Questioning and Straight sims (since they're not exclusive to gay guys but still have an influence on Gay Culture.)
Simplified and hopefully clarified the process that determines whether a Sim is Gay, Bi, Straight, Closeted or Questioning, and made Questioning a visible trait. This check is only run the first time a sim is Loaded. After the, the traits evolve through gameplay. Pre-existing Sims who have traits assigned won't be affected.
If a Sim is Romantically Attracted to Males, they get the hidden Archetype Tracker trait and are Assigned Gay Or Bi based on whether they're also attracked to females.
If A Sim Does NOT then have a woohoo preference for Males they are Assigned Straight.
If A Sim is not Romantically Attracted to Males But does have a Woohoo Preference for them, Romantic Exploration and pre-existing relationships are then checked.
If Romantic Exploration is turned off the Sim is assigned Closeted
If the sim is in a relationship the Sim is assigned Straight.
If the Romantic Exploration is turned on and the Sim is single, they are assigned the Questioning Trait.
There are several different ways for Questioning Sims to depending on whether they come from played or unplayed households. Primarily they willl be assigned either Bi or Straight when they enter a relationship, depending on the gender of their partner.
Unplayed and Questioning Cowboys and Jocks will now default to Closeted, while Unplayed and Questioning Nerds and Goths sims will to default to Bi.
Unplayed Questioning Sims on a particular lot can also be determined as Bi using the Gayborhood Lot Trait or Closeted using Repressed Neighborhood Lot Challenge.
Unplayed Straight Sims will have Romantic Exploration turned Off to help enforce their Identity. That's not to say they can't be swayed, that's what Bromance Interactions and the Yassify spell are for.
(I'm definitely open minded on this adjustment. This is mostly to add consistency between my Mod, Wicked Whims and Vanilla Gameplay, as EA continues to be more specific with the Sexual Preference of the new townies and almost all townies from before sexual preferences were added default to "Exploration On, Yes to Woohoo with Both Genders").
I've cautiously re-added a few Wicked and Basemental Traits to a few Archetypes for flavor. This will only affect Sims from Unplayed Households, each Wicked/Basemental trait only has a 10% chance to be added, and the check to add the Wicked/Basemental traits are only run when Archetypes themselves get added, and is not constantly enforced by the mod, unlike early iterations of the Mod, which means you can remove them if you so choose. This is to add some flavor and unpredictability to the world, as I hate having to micromanage who gets what traits, or having to run a trait randomizer every time I start a new save. Again, this is only for Unplayed Households, so your sims will remain unaffected.
Unplayed sims tended to lean toward being assigned the Bottom role (not unlike real life) so I added a system for an unplayed Top to emerge when too many Bottoms cluster together.
Made some elements of Closeted gameplay less restrictive.

I've been getting exceptions with this one. Very sad face!
